Can't seem to upload the PDF onto here, sorry for inconvenience
Hello, I've recently been struggling in how to decide which short I should decide on filming, and would like some advice or a choice between the two :). Some people have said to combine the two, but I'm very unsure of this in 15 minutes. To help I will give summaries of both.
The TL:DR is an Alpha Male Influencer accidentally runs over a body and recruits his best friend/manager to cover it up.
The first focuses on the influencers YouTube video interrupted by him running over a body, bagging it up in secret, recruiting his friend who has banter and tells him about a recently missing girl, going to a forest with said friend to bury it (in the midst of a search party for this missing girl), and burying the body. Eventually a searcher finds them and all hell breaks loose, only to reveal that they were burying a dog all along. It's additionally revealed that the friend has been recording himself (through the video we are watching) and he was willing to destroy the friendship for this. He decides to cut out the burial footage and show it to another YouTuber to cling onto the drama. (This one felt a little like a condensed feature but had some great scenes).
The second focuses solely on the drive in one take (hopefully). They meet up, chat, establish themselves, and drive to a "mission" which the influencer records. A bang comes from the trunk which starts some questions. The influencer says it was cocaine, and gets his friend to do a coke bump with him. They continue driving happily, until a cop arrives and pulls them over for speeding. The cop mentions a bag in the tray, and they both swear on their innocence. After a speeding car forces the cop to leave, the friend discovers the bag in the trunk, changing who he thought his friend was, and forcing him to make a decision between leaving or staying. He stays.
Apologies for the long one, but am deeply curious about which excites a broader public. Thanks!
Looking for honest feedback on any fat I could possibly trim, and if this opening does a good job of keeping you hooked etc. etc. Thanks!
I currently have a script I'm really proud of, however its about 25 pages in length.
The logline is essentially: Two YouTuber best friends destroy each other in their attempts to bury a body.
I'd be more than happy for people to read it and give me coverage, but is this too long?
