Before I explain anything, I'd like to pay my SINCEREST apologies for drawing her headset incorrectly. I tried mirroring a reference image of Rei for convenience, which resulted in the slip-up. Again, sorry if it makes the art look worse.

I recently discovered Adachi Rei and liked the way she sounded, which led to me looking up more Adachi Rei music and becoming a sort of fan. She's adorable and I couldn't resist the urge to draw her after my 3-month hiatus! I wanted to draw a mix of her original and newer Vocaloid designs. Besides the fact that I incorrectly drew her headset, I'm quite satisfied with how this turned out. Instead of grabbing a posing model and tracing it, I practised anatomy and sketched the pose all by myself. I also drew the air flow and light source (which aren't visible in the final render) to get more accurate lighting and hair movement.
Choosing a background and VFX was quite hard, but I eventually settled on a dreamy sky and atmosphere.
