Safety as trans woman: solo bike trekking - Lapland and Finland (End of September & October)

Dear all,

I'm from the east of Germany, quit my job recently and want to settle and recover myself a bit after some years of narcistic and transphobic abuse at work (especially after coming out) before I start a new job. Due to being fixed to my notice period in my job, I will be ready, travelling to the north by train and bus in the middle or end of September.

I will start riding through Lapland (initial point might be Gällivare (SWE), if I take the train - not 100% sure yet). From there I will travel south to Helsinki taking a detour through Lapland along the way. Everything depends on weather of course.

My question to you is, how safe is it as a trans woman to bike through the landscape of Lapland and Finland alone? I read in other threads, it is considered to be quite safe?

What should I take care of, especially wild camping alone.

(I'm experienced, being outdoors (winter and summer); e. g . I have been living in Iceland for a while, and have been in south Greenland just this summer. So I think, I'm safe from that side of experience so to say. (: )

I would be keen about meeting one or the other along my travel in autumn.

Best wishes and stay safe
