On August 13 the local diocese celebrates the Optional Memorial of Blessed Michael McGivney. This insert includes proper texts for the Office of Readings.
The whole rollout of the new LOTH feels so American to me. The excessive marketing of it all. The fancy videos. The previews. The pre-orders. The expensive price. Hopefully other countries don’t milk it as much as ascension and word on fire have! It makes me feel a little weird inside to be “marketing” a liturgy in such a capitalistic manner. But that’s the USA!
Does anyone feel uneasy about this?
Will the new printings have similar guides?
Hello all. I am a seminarian, so I am going to be getting the word on fire copy for free. But I think I am partial to the aesthetics of the Ascension Press version. Mostly due to the margins.
What do you guys think of those thick margins in the word on fire version? They claim that the “edge to edge “style of the current version was less effective for readability. Not sure I buy that.
