How to test Teac X-700R

I bought this Teac beast from a guy who was taking it to the metal scrap yard. I’m totally unfamiliar with these and was wondering if I could/should do any power up, testing, etc., before trying to find it a new home or if I should leave that to someone more knowledgeable…

Are Grade D phones worth saving for collectors vs scrapping for gold?

I have a couple dozen old bar phones that have accumulated from electronics and computer parts lots that I’ve bought. I was contacted by a guy who wants to buy some broken Chromebooks I have listed so he can recover the gold. I happened to think of these phones and wondered if they’re worth keeping intact. I refurbish Win98/2K/XP desktops and laptops, so I hate to recycle working tech, but these phones are outside my wheelhouse. I hope this isn’t triggering to anyone, but I’m at a loss trying to figure out the best future for a bunch of phones that are in pretty grungy shape to begin with. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Best to let a new owner season their way?

A friend was given a Blackstone but decided he’s not likely to use it enough to keep it. He’s not online and asked me to list it for him to find it a new home. We’ve been discussing whether or not to rehab it a bit or if it’d be better to let the new owner do that however they’d prefer. What’s the best option?

We tried our first one tonight. It wasn’t bad, just bland - breaded tenderloin on a bun. Granted, it was $21.59 after tax, so I don’t want to try one with several dollars of add-ons, but there’s gotta be a way to taste-ify it.
