What makes Marathi movies unwatchable to me is mixture of all genres. This is true for most indian film industries too. I think it will help a lot to stay with a single genre. With exception of fantasy and action Marathi movies are too plagued by having romance,drama, comedy and at the end some preaching all in 2 hours. There are almost no fantasy or action movies. It's either mainly social commentary or double meaning adult comedy and love story. This is just my observation. If you have any examples that go against this I would love to watch those movies.

No matter how many times I watch both movies Iam always entertained. As I gain more knowledge about our state's and country's politics my love for these movies only grows. I think everyone regardless of political ideology can watch them which is best compliment for movies of such genre.

Short, slice of life and great prose is what Iam looking after.

I see some of the marathi audience take misplaced pride in Marathi movies not putting much emphasis on beauty or good lucks of actors. I think that's also one of big drawbacks which results in less revenue. If a movie is boring then you can atleast enjoy beautiful people ( for either gender). Marathi industry doesn't have glamour of BW to rely solely on acting. What do you guys think?
