This post popped on my insta feed.
As I checked the grey t-shirt guy's profile, he has posted handful of posts, though majority of the posts featured him with the director-actor Nagraj Manjule and one of them even thanked the director.
This made me wonder is he playing the lead role in Khasabha.
krupaya solution sanga.....Angavarr kaata yeto Khashabacha teaser tisryanda baghitla tari!! :-)))
Watched atmaphamplet movie today, such a pleasant refreshing movie. Wish things were such Pleasant in real life.
Now that Vari is approaching soon (in couple of days time), just thought to share my favorite songs on Vari/Vitthal in Marathi, in no particular order:
2. Deh Vitthal Vitthal Zhala, independent song.
Would love to hear yours :)
Manjule made Hindi projects like Jund and matka king as a director and appeared in multiple hindi/marathi projects but it took so long to direct another Marathi film especially as Sairat (2016) grossed 100cr +. Nevertheless the Marathi industry needed such a director after continuous slop years especially after the pandemic.
Khashaba (2027) marks the return of Director Nagaraj Manjule to marathi film industry.
Watched Jogwa (available on youtube) after a long time, and here are my thoughts:
The positives:
(1) Upendra Limaye's performance as a Jogta who undergoes forced feminization is the highlight. He carries the role earnestly, and his desperation feels earned towards the end.
(2) The village atmosphere feels immersive -- the cinematography is pretty good.
(3) BGM is a melancholic tune giving an eerie grim vibe, well suited to the movie's tone.
(4) The soundtrack is phenomenal -- Lallati Bhandar and Jeev Rangala need no introduction.
Where I feel it could have perhaps improved:
(1) The movie starts off strongly, with "induction" of Tayappa and Suli, but then feels largely episodic. I understand the intent is an observational cinema on the life of Jogtas and Jogtins but it starts feeling a bit dragged after a point. Contrary to my expectations, the tone of the movie, while grim, is largely restrained.
(2) Chinmay Mandlekar is largely wasted in the movie IMO. He could have been given more of a character development but appears more like an extended extra. Similarly, the character that tries to raise awareness about blind faith appears briefly and goes out without leaving a trace.
(3) The climax feels like an awkard middle territory between restraint and catharsis -- It strays away from restraint, which has been the tone of the movie through-out, and becomes a bit over the top with two lovers suddenly "overpowering" the clan.
Overall tho -- it's one of the top-tier Marathi films IMO. Highly recommended watch, if you haven't :)

As mentioned in screenshot of the shared article, it speaks about Maharashtra Govt signing an Memorandum of understanding with an organization headed by Deool producer to expand the reach of Marathi films.
In the context of that article, does the Marathi diaspora enthusiastically watch Marathi films in theatre akin to how Malayali, Tamil and Telugu diaspora does for the films of their languages in those countries.
In regards to Malayalam films, GCC nations does form a major chunk of box office collection.
What an incredible trailer—we’ve all been waiting for this. The background score is top‑notch and the editing is brilliant. Everything looks amazing and truly intriguing. I really hope the film lives up to expectations. Please make sure the promotions are done properly.
