With extremely limited shows. Hope it shows some growth as there is no major movie release until Aug 28. The reviews and word of mouth are really good.

Yesterday I went for a houseful Marathi Natak, so Marathi people are definitely making time for good content. Hope it reflects in box office numbers for good Marathi movies too.

A few other box office numbers of recent Marathi movies:

* Bhootam Bhayyam - 3.31 crore (Budget 4 crore, below average)

* Swapnasundari - 26 lakh

* Ek Hota Malin - 37 lakh

* Mamachya Govyla Jauya - 2.2 crore (still running, budget 7 cr so trending flop)

Rickshaws quote 200+ for non-standard routes for example Birla College to Triveni Grande or Metro Junction and they are really entitled and rude. If you try Uber Auto it's the same and no one accepts until you add more money. Sometimes they accept but wait and don't move until we cancel.

The Rickshaw situation in Kalyan is worse compared to Mumbai where they operate on meters. A lot of our non-standard route journeys would have been a lot cheaper if the Rickshaws learnt to operate using meters here.

• Tula Pahata

  • Budget - 2.5 cr
  • Box office - 32 lakh

• Bol Bol Rani

  • Budget - 3.5 cr
  • Box office - 15 lakh

Tula Pahata and Bol Bol Rani, in spite of being good movies, didn't even get a start to create any buzz. Competition from Dhamaal 4 and Odyssey ruined any chances for these movies.

The rest of the movies this month are going to see the same fate. Bhootam Bhayam might get 1 crore+ box office if presented well by Zee. Rest don't even stand a chance - Swapnasundari, Ek Hota Malin and Mamachya Govyla Jauya.

This week a random Tamil movie has more shows in Mumbai than all Marathi movies put together. Next week, no movies stand a chance because of Spiderman.

Marathi movies really need to work on release planning, as well as re-releasing movies if the first release didn't get any traction.
