Hi everyone,
I’m from India and have some hands-on experience working as an elderly caretaker (helping with bathing, feeding, medication support, activities, and daily assistance).
I’m planning to switch my career and move into Germany through Ausbildung, but I’m confused between:
- Nursing Ausbildung (Pflegefachkraft) 2. Elderly Care Assistant / Altenpflege Ausbildung
My main questions:
Which option is easier to enter for someone with prior caregiving experience?
Which has better long-term career growth and salary?
Is nursing much more stressful or difficult compared to elderly care?
Which path offers better opportunities for visa sponsorship and job security?
Can elderly care Ausbildung later help me transition into nursing or broader healthcare roles?
What are the real challenges international applicants face in both fields?
My concerns:
Language requirement
Physical and emotional workload
Salary during and after Ausbildung
Recognition and future opportunities in Germany or other EU countries
I would really appreciate honest advice from people already working or training in these sectors.
Thank you!
