Rear Brake Disc Too Hot - Interceptor 650

Hey everyone,

I have a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and noticed that the rear brake disc gets extremely hot even after a short ride of a few kilometers. It becomes too hot to touch, while the front disc stays noticeably cooler.

The bike rides normally otherwise:

- No ABS warning

- Brake pads still have good material left

- Rear wheel spins, but there is a slight hiss sound from the brake area

- I also hear occasional tick/tick sounds after stopping

I recently cleaned and lubed the chain, and I’m wondering if the rear brake might be dragging slightly or if this amount of heat is normal on the Interceptor 650.

Could this be due to:

- Rear brake pedal free play adjustment?

- Caliper piston not retracting fully?

- Normal pad rubbing?

- Riding habit/resting foot on brake?

Would appreciate advice from other Interceptor owners before I take it to service.

Thanks!
