With Sangley Point Airport project a go, where the PN will most likely relocate its units there? Will the Cavite Naval Yard be affected too?
PAF’s 15th SW already relocated to Mindanao.
Jose Rizal Class Frigates “FFBNW completion” (Recent Update)
CIWS- Aselsan Gokdeniz (used by the Malvar Class FFGs)
TASS- TRAPS (to be used by the Rajah Sulayman Class OPVs)

PAF Air Defense Management System
So this is the building up of the “k*ll chain”?
@rybar_pacific: Potential locations for Ukrainian USVs in the Philippines
With the talks of a “Drone deal” with Ukraine, I saw this one on twitter/X.
PAF AEW&C Acquisition: Cost benchmark
Since PAF is planning to acquire 2 AWACS planes + package, an unnamed Middle Eastern country recently signed a contract for 2 SAAB Globaleye AWACS planes + package, the cost mentioned will give us an idea on how much it will approximately cost PAF to acquire 2 AWACS planes + package.
The AFP (and SRDP program) will surely benefit from this initiative regarding the development of aerospace and space technology.
“Kill chain” (For BrahMos, Type 88, Stand off weapons, BVR missiles, etc.), ISR/ C4ISTAR, Disaster preparedness, many more once we launch our own satellites eventually. The development of rockets, missiles, etc.
Space port location is in Cagayan where an EDCA site is present too.
Frigate or Corvette? Designation of the Abukuma Class DEs once in PN service
What will be its possible designation once in service?
Frigate (PF-, FF-)? Corvette (PS-, K-, FS-)?
There are Corvettes that are larger than Frigates (In terms of size: Babur Class, Kamorta Class > Jose Rizal Class, Martadinata Class, Gepard 3.9/ Dinh Tien Hoang class)
They are really desperate to take down SND Teodoro

Questions about the AEW&C acquisition.
- With a lot of customers (Canada, France, NATO AWACS force, etc.) lining up for the GlobaleyeAEW&C, how long is the approximate waiting time should PAF proceed with it since it is at the forefront as mentioned by Sir Max?
- In case of long backlog/“Haba ng pila” of GlobalEye, chances that SAAB may offer their remaining stored Erieye AWACS (possibly upgraded to Erieye-ER?) to us as the alternative?
- Somewhat related to Question 2, since the SAAB 2000/340 turboprop planes are very rare, sustaining the platform will be hard eventually. Is it feasible and worth it to negotiate with SAAB to “transplant” the Erieye system to the latest platforms like the ATR-72 or C-295 from the start? It will be the alternative/ Plan B AWACS to the Globaleye in case of its long backlog. Will the cost balloon and consume too much time that buying and waiting for the GlobalEye is the best route? Citing Embraer R-99 (EMB-145 business jet + Erieye system) as an example of the Erieye system transplanted to a non-SAAB aircraft before the Globaleye.
Question: Possible “later” configuration of PN Abukuma Class DEs
With the deal for acquiring 5 Abukuma Class DEs finally reached, once they are in service and eventually the PN funds the “necessary updates” to bring them to the same standard as to their other ships, will the possible configuration be: Japanese CMS + Common standard equipment (found on Jose Rizal, Miguel Malvar, Rajah Sulayman and Del Pilar Classes)??
Or purely Japanese subsystems?
OTO Melara and 2x3 Torpedo launchers are retained. I assume the ASROC launcher will be removed due to obsolescence. Phalanx CIWS will be removed (US approval + JMSDF may transplant the CIWS to their newer ships + PN sticking to a standard CIWS [Gokdeniz]). Link-16 (procured separately), Link-P (DND paying premium to bring the Hanwha- developed TDL to the Japanese DEs.)
