Is "The Caretaker" a reference/homage to the shining?
His music frequently samples old ballroom music, similar to the kind heard prominently in the ending of the movie. Jack Torrance is told repeatedly by apparitions that he is the caretaker of the overlook hotel and overall the movie has surreal imagery and has been considered an example of liminal spaces which the caretaker's music is commonly associated with. Do you think his name is a nod to the film which he might have been influenced by?
