r/TheCaretaker
I really want to start listening to The Caretaker. Snapchat AI said “An Empty Bliss Beyond This World” would be a good start and so would “The Green Door” is too. What should I listen to first?

Say it isn't so - Layton Johnstone, is the song being played.
I think it is embossed rather than cut. I use a shard of glass on a pivot actuated by a small speaker and hold it while playing music through the speaker.
The groves are too small and that is where the tracking problems are coming from.
Is "The Caretaker" a reference/homage to the shining?
His music frequently samples old ballroom music, similar to the kind heard prominently in the ending of the movie. Jack Torrance is told repeatedly by apparitions that he is the caretaker of the overlook hotel and overall the movie has surreal imagery and has been considered an example of liminal spaces which the caretaker's music is commonly associated with. Do you think his name is a nod to the film which he might have been influenced by?
I love you all and the world too.
I just finished Everywhere at the end of time.
And I feel like I have a new outlook on life.
Im so happy to be here and to be alive.
Even if theres bad days I know if I push a
Bit farther, a bit harder ill be fine :)
Im happy to see all of the new things life gives me: foods, games, movies, friendships.
How could you be so sad in a world of endless outcomes?
Even the worse parts of life still have beauty.
I love this world with all its flaws.
Because Im only getting one chance to see it all.
So find meaning in the meaningless.
Fight for what you love.
Better ending song
Was inspired by the previous person's post. Sorry if this is just a copy. Just wanted to know what everyone else here thought
WHICH IS BETTER (EAEB Edition) (Also how sad)
Loss Of Want Back there

And Bliss, Everywhere Bliss
Caretaker - A film about the one who suffers and those who suffer around them.
Hello everyone, my name is James.
I am not entirely sure if this post is suitable for this sub but I thought I would share with you anyway, please remove otherwise. I'm a filmmaker and a few years ago I made a short film (Caretaker) about the death of my grandmother (Pat) but told through the eyes of my mother (Sue), I wanted to translate what that experience is like onto film in a way that I don't think has been done yet. Pat had a long and difficult battle with Alzheimer's for almost ten years, words can't properly articulate what that's like, to see someone slowly succumb to a disease like dementia and even harder to express the emotions and pain you feel both for that person and within yourself.
Part of the reason why I'm posting this is because I am currently in the process of turning this personal story into a feature film, something which is becoming increasingly hard to do in this day and age without the right amount of 'clout' behind you. One of the ways I intend to gain backing and support for the project is through the conversations I intend to start with charities like Alzheimer's Research & Society with the hopes to get enough backing to get the project funded.
The title of Caretaker itself is inspired by James Leyland Kirby, a musician who created pieces of music that articulates the experience of dementia. I would highly recommend anyone interested in how artists articulate the disease through their work to check him out.
Here's a link to his work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJWksPWDKOc&list=RDwJWksPWDKOc&start_radio=1
I want this personal story of Pat & Sue to reach out and touch the lives of many who have walked down the same isolating road of caring for someone who birthed and raised you whilst they slowly disappear right in front of you. This is where I ask for anyone who has the time or interest to kindly please watch Caretaker and tell me your own experiences with the ones close to you who are currently suffering due to Alzheimer's. I intend to create something we can all connect to, something that everyone can find some sense of understanding in and most importantly something that can help you find peace.
Thanks again,
James
I finished EatEoT!
I already posted here yesterday, but I have to say that it was marvelous. I specifically enjoyed 2, 3, and 4. They are my favorite stages because of how solemn they can be sometimes. I unfortunately have to say stage 1 was my least favorite of the whole series, mostly because I just didn’t think any of the songs sounded good. I’m aware that’s an unpopular opinion, but I love music, and the sound of stage 1 doesn’t do much for me.
What is everyone’s opinions on that?
Why do some people say that this painting by Ivan Seal is an scrapped poster for EATEOT Stage 6?
btw this painting is called fifer onzunge.
how it feels to listen to advanced plaque entanglements second edition
IM BACK WITH THIS SERIES YAY
What are your favourite songs from EATEOT?
For me, this is kind of cheating as it is three, it is the grand canyon suite songs (C4, D1 and D5) this is because they have a different feeling to the rest of the album. They don't feel like memories and instead feel like what the patient is feeling at that moment.
Guys give me sample ideas
I have an fan project and in this project i have used about 100 samples, but i want to use 500 - 2000 samples, can yall give me samples?
What are your favourite Stages
My third question of the week. For me, it is probably Stage 2 as it has a feeling the other awareness stages don't. Most songs don't have short loops and some play fully. Not to mention the titles have this feeling of apathy and defeat as well.
WHICH IS BETTER PART 3
Stage 5 for me, also stage 5 is small because ivan + seal = ivan seal
Maybe one of the craziest ideas but hear me out
What if we all try to sort all of the caretaker music in a chronological order? Not album by album but song by song... having to choose what to be the first song of the whole lore to the last one...
Will anyone join me to fulfill this idea?
It will probably take weeks or even months to completely do this whole project:
Listening to all his work
Compare it
Re listening to it again if we aren't sure the match may fit(which may happen)
We will do multiple stages for the whole thing from the first ones that are clear to the last ones...
Opinion on this idea?
WHICH IS BETTER PART 2
I like stage 2 but, stage 3 takes the crown
