Finding the right Commander for someone new to the game
I‘m currently trying to find a commander for my partner which is easy to build, easy to play, straightforward without too many confusing mechanics, so generally a go wide (or go tall) deck.
In best case the deck should mainly consist of „cute“ cards and/or cards which show a bond to nature, but also strong enough to compeat with B2 or low B3 decks. The Budget should be around 50€.
Commanders I thought about are:
- [[Voja, Fangs of the Conclave]] Elves Typal, maybe with some wolves sprinkled in.
- [[Kirri, Talented Sprout]] „Garden“ theme, many plants and treefolk, but also landfall.
- [[Trelasarra, Moon Dancer]] Lifegain plus some Go Big Stuff.
- [[Rin and Seri, Inseparable]] Cats and Dogs.
- [[Light-Paws, Emperor‘s Voice]] Aura Voltron.
- [[Sythis, Harvest‘s Hand]] Enchantress.
But I‘m open for any other suggestions, as long as it’s a beginner friendly deck.
Thanks in Advance! :)

I stumbled across [[Powerstone Minefield]] and [[Starmine Field]] and realized the attack triggers will trigger on opponents‘ attacks as well, which is why I wanted to brew a deck abusing these kind of effects. Currently I found 4 of these kind of effects (the 2 mine fields, [[Caltrops]] and [[Ring of Fire]]), plus some other Pillowfort-ish cards ([[Marchesa‘s Decree]], [[Hissing Miasma]],…), as well as some creatures profiting from getting damage while attacking ([[Brash Taunter]], [[Barbed Servitor]], [[Stormwild Capridor]], [[Stuffy Doll]]) and some cards comboing with these ([[Guilty Conscience]], [[Pariah]], [[Shield of Pariah]]). But while testing on Forge I realized it’s most of the time more or less a „kingmaker“ deck.
Does anyone have a list (in best case around €50) which does similar stuff, or do you have recommendations what definitely to add? Especially card draw seems to Lack unfortunately.
