This came up in sideline discussion last week that a local kid who is a 2030 grad year, but on the younger end of the spectrum, was going to do a number of tournaments with a 2031 team. The parents have no intention of ever reclassing the kid. This team will be at NAL and probably crabfeast and/or naptown this summer. I thought at least 2 of the 3 age/grad year verified, but apparently not.

The question is, is this normal? If so, what’s the point? Has my 2031 been playing against 2030s all along?

I felt like I had to hold back my laughs at the weakness of playing down, but that’s just me.
