Career pursuits

Hello ArtistLounge,

My sister is currently pursuing a degree in studio art and is starting to think about a career path. I am a software dev so i have NO idea what the art world looks like in terms of jobs, but she's recently gone through a little rough patch and I want to help her out by getting involved in her career pursuit. But I do not have any reference points for what is feasible or possible for recent art grads looking to enter the field. All I know is that it sounds as hard if not harder to get a job in this field as it is for computer science right now. She loves marvel/dc and has dreamed about being a comic book artist. I am really just hoping you guys have some general tips/tricks for what I can research to help her out. It could be directly tied to comics or just general art centered work that would push her further to her goal. I do not think this post violates rule 5 or 9, but mods please let me know if I need to move this over to a different sub. Thanks guys!
