FML

Not what I wanted to see after dropping the oil pan to inspect my pickup tube on my search for my low oil pressure alert issue. All of it but 2 pieces seem to be aluminum.

Thoughts from the brain trust

2017 3.5 with 203k miles. 3 weeks ago I had the low oil pressure alarm and white smoke. Driver side turbo went out. I swapped both with OEMs from eBay with less than 50k. All new coolant and oil lines. I also swapped my VVT solenoids bc of codes. Today I replaced my OPS and pigtail with parts from Ford. Starts right up and runs great, sounds amazing for about 1.5 mins. Basically once the RPMs drop below 1000. Low oil pressure alert comes back on. I put our Autel Maxyis tablet on it and record the reading. The sensor has proper voltage while the key is on so that’s good. I’ll post the graph, but any ideas? I’m assuming with the readings, it’s getting good pressure, but why the alert still? I’m in the process of dropping the pan bc it’s plastic and leaking anyway, so why not.

Oil pressure sensor

Just swapped my turbos, all the lines, and did my VVTs. After a minute of running great, my low oil pressure light came back. So I go to Oreilly for a Motorcraft OPS…the 3 pins are a different configuration than the one on my 2017. Closest Ford shop has the 3 straight pin sensor for $91 and he’s looking for the matching pigtail. Was there a variation or something? Must be VIN specific?

Seating a turbo coolant line

For anyone who has installed turbos, driver side coolant line that goes to the back of the motor above the bell housing…how the hell do you get that thing seated all the way in?? It’s kicking my ass pretty bad at this point!

Snapped an oil line bolt on my turbo!

Are these a very specific Torx bolt that I need to order, or one I can grab at a hardware store? Obviously the right length and thread.

Check engine and ran a scan

I keep getting a CEL that was saying cylinder 4 misfire and left bank lean. Changed plugs and injector. Still stayed on and now I’ve got these codes. Reading online is steering me toward a dirty VVT solenoid. Thoughts from the brain trust?

Low oil pressure+white smoke…

Got the dreaded low oil pressure alert so I swapped the switch. Nobody local had an OEM and I was trying to get it back home. I cleaned the pigtail out. Worked for about 45 seconds then the alarm comes back on and white smoke starts pouring out of the exhaust. Got my driver side turbo pulled last night, impeller definitely made contact. Wet oil in the exhaust also. Soooo where should I start tracking for the low pressure? This is a 2017 3.5 4WD Lariat with 202k miles on it.
