Ignition Coil Legitimacy

Fake or honest error on FoMoCo’s part? “FoMoCo” and “DSVYA” etched into the head. 3 prongs in the connector. What else should I look for?

Anyone tried a turbo rebuild kit? -by NP Boosted?

I’m looking at buying a turbo rebuild kit from NP Boosted (out of Canada, but made in China). I can’t seem to find any reviews online. My turbos seem to be fine, just leaking coolant and oil at the line fittings on the turbos (both). I’m having to take them out in order to extract broken exhaust manifold studs and replace. So I figured while I’ve got it all out, I might as well rebuild the internals of the turbos, and replace the oil/coolant lines. Just wondering if these kits/brand is any good, or if rebuild is worth it. The kit is $250 with shipping -beats the price of new OEM turbos.

I’m just shy of 150,000 miles on my 2013 F150 ecoboost.

Throttle body intake hose clamps

2014 3.5 EB

I recently put in a new OEM throttle body, I noticed that the old clamp was getting bad and doesn't have a good grip anymore and confirmed that's the case because the intake hose keeps slipping off slightly after I put it back on

Got some new clamps and tightened them but they also slip. The original clamps I had had those hooks that I guess should grab on the throttle body lip. Any recommendations where I can get similar clamps or what other solutions?

Sudden loss of power after changing the battery.

So my 2016 2.7 still had the original battery in it and after almost 11 years it was time. I swapped it out with a H6 Diehard Platnum. Truck drove fine rest of the day no issues. Went to fireworks on Saturday night, started up fine and was on the way home when all power was just gone halfway up a pretty steep hill. Gave it some gas and it was barely moving but when I hit the top and it leveled out she took off again like nothing happened. No lights on the dash. Sunday took it downtown and made it roughly 3/4 of a mile from my house and loss all power again only this time on flat road no dash lights again. Pulled over, shut it off and restarted problem gone again. Any ideas on what is going on? I have to take it on a 600 + mile trip from Vermont to Virginia on the 18th for work and I don't want to get halfway there and break down.

Cam Phaser 🤦‍♂️

Massive hole where, I assume, the pin used to be. Thought I was just replacing the VVT solenoids. Wrong. Gotta get it towed to a shop now. Got a feeling it'll be expensive.

If anyone has advice or experience with this I'm all ears. But at this point I'm throwing in the towel and letting someone else take over. This is above my paygrade.

2016 2.7ecoboost smoking

Smells sweet at start up but turns into a burning metal smell. Thinking possibly a bad turbo hot side?

P0430 and fuel trim issue

Chasing a P0430 - new cat and Motorcraft up/downstream O2 sensors on Bank 2. No other codes. Slight shudder at idle.

Seems to be engine running rich—-

Bank 1 long term fuel trim solid 0 at idle, STFT floats a bit but generally steady at 2.3.

Bank 2, on the other hand, LTFT sticks at -4.7 while STFT sits at 7. At idle, LTFT never comes of -4.7, the STFT will float a bit.

What should I be looking for at this point?

Strut assembly options

2014 f150 Ecoboost 3.5

I am planning to replace the front struts, I do them myself so it's more efficient to get a strut assembly. Since motorcraft doesn't have assemblies, I am looking to get aftermarket Assemblies.

Between rough country , KYB, FCS and Bilstein, which one has a closer to OEM ride? If I am missing other brands I am open to recommendations

Gen 1 exhaust housing crack. Is this common?

Have you guys ever seen exhaust housings crack like this? I just replaced both turbos on my 2015 after 110k miles nd both of the housings were cracked in the same location. Are these salvagable?

Odd oscillation type feeling uphill sometimes?

Stock 2025 F-150 Tremor 3.5 and I'm noticing something odd that I'm hoping others can weigh in on.

On moderate uphill grades (around 7%) while unloaded, I'll occasionally feel what seems like a slight surge or oscillation. When I look at the cluster, I can see the turbo boost gauge bouncing up and down, and at the same time the RPM needle fluctuates by a couple hundred RPM.

If I lift off the throttle and get back on it, the issue usually disappears. It also seems to go away if I give it more throttle. There are no warning lights, nothing shows in OASIS, and my scanner doesn't find any stored or pending codes.

I drove the exact same routes hundreds of times in my 2018 Raptor and never experienced anything like this.

Has anyone else with a 2024 or 2025 3.5L EcoBoost noticed this? Is this just a quirk of the new transmission/throttle programming, or does it sound like something isn't right? Could it be lugging a bit in 10th gear on an uphill grade? The rpms are usually around 1500-1800 when this happens.

Update post from 4m ago

What’s up y’all I just want to sharemy experience incase anyone’s curious about these. After using this bed mat for the past four months, I'd definitely say it was worth every penny. I hose it off every week and shake it out a couple of times during the week, and it's held up really well so far.

Went into Olive Garden for dinner, and came outside to another 12th gen friend!

If you’re in here, I like the truck! If you’re the guy wearing the Deftones shirt I complemented inside Olive Garden, you got some real good taste.

Ethanol free fuel

I did a quick search in the EB sub and didn't find anything conclusive, however would running Ethanol free fuel in our trucks be worth it or would it do more harm than good? I currently run 93 in mine and when we go up from Houston to Amarillo (which I can do on a single tank thanks 35g tank) I always bring a bottle of octane booster since I can usually only find 91 up there. From what Ive seen 91 starts after I get passed DFW and up in the panhandle...not sure why but Im getting off on a tangent. TIA

Lasfit bed & tailgate mat on a 2023 F-150 (5.5' bed)

Installed the Lasfit bed mat and tailgate mat on my 2023 F-150 STX (5.5' bed) and figured I'd share a few pictures.

The fit has been great, and the biggest thing I've noticed is that stuff doesn't slide around nearly as much as it did on the bare bed. It also gives the bed a cleaner look and adds some protection from scratches.

If anyone has any questions about the fit or wants a close-up of a certain area, let me know.

Disclosure: Lasfit sent me the mats to test, but these are my own opinions after using them.

Sync 1 to sync 3 conversion

2014 f150

Has anyone tried installing a conversion kit from sync 1 to sync 3? I found some OEM conversion kits with reasonable price.

Trying to see if anyone upgraded their sync. I mostly rely on the carplay navigation but if I am keep the truck it would be nice to have

2011 fx2 3.5eb runs strong for a long time.

No problems. Not complaining. Just highlighting how strong these motors are when properly cared for.

I love my truck.
