[TUY8S3.1] Red Moon Rising, PvP Updates & Rage Harvest

RED MOON RISING EVENT

https://preview.redd.it/tbyzjwbxlcrh1.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84327e4a7109ead4b86617b22f17e0649534d1c6

A red moon has risen over the Dark Zone, and the Black Tusk have taken control.

During Red Moon Rising, Agents entering the PvE Dark Zone will face Black Tusk forces while dealing with strange alterations to their SHD tech. The longer you remain inside, the more Red Moon Stacks you accumulate, bringing a mix of powerful buffs and dangerous drawbacks as your stack count rises.

The buildup lasts only as long as your run. Death, leaving the PvE Dark Zone, or securing contaminated loot wipes your stacks clean. Safehouses give you a chance to pause the accumulation until you step back into the Red Moon.

REWARDS

Those willing to take on the Red Moon's more dangerous encounters can earn rewards from dedicated loot pools, including Exotics, DZ Named items, curated Named items, and Prototype gear.

https://preview.redd.it/sb1zm8nllcrh1.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8de6e4e8fd844747a7ca0d43fdee4be8c41a8b69

Featured among the event rewards are two new Exotics, Vertigo and Sarru.

Vertigo Exotic GR9 Talent Startling Whenever this weapon makes an enemy Suppressed, the enemy is applied Disorient, and you and allies receive +30% Damage to Targets Out of Cover for 15s. Sarru Exotic Backpack Talent Decoy King While in combat, the Moon will cycle through its phases every 5s. There are 8 Moon phases. Starting from a New Moon, all damage you deal will be Amplified by 5%. The value of the Amplifier will increase by 5% each phase until reaching 25% during a Full Moon, then it will decrease as the Moon return to being a New Moon, restarting the cycle. During a Full Moon, deploying a Decoy will grant it Overcharge and the cycle will pause for 10s.

A familiar threat returns under the Red Moon. Taking down the Recruiter will reward you with his unique Mask.

Red Moon Rising runs from September 24 through November 3, so be sure to make a few trips into the PvE Dark Zone before it’s gone.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

RAGE HARVEST GLOBAL EVENT

Rage Harvest returns from September 29 through October 6, with enemies once again protected by Overheal that makes them tougher and more dangerous the more they accumulate.

Break through that protection to build Rage of your own, increasing your Weapon Damage, RPM, Weapon Handling, Critical Hit Chance, and Critical Hit Damage. The longer you keep the pressure up, the longer your Rage lasts.

STATS AND RESOURCES MULTIPLIER EVENTS

Dark Zone Surge

  • Runs September 22 – September 29
  • Make the most of your time in the Dark Zone with 3x DZ XP, no DZ XP loss on death before reaching the level cap, and 2x DZ Funds throughout the event.

IMPROVEMENTS AND FIXES

PVP UPDATES

We're bringing another round of PvP-specific balance adjustments across Prototype Augments, Gear and Brand Set bonuses, talents, Exotics, and SHD Skills.

Improvements cover everything from damage and defensive bonuses to skill range, duration, cooldowns, and individual talent values. The new Vertigo and Sarru Exotics also receive their own PvP tuning.

If you want to dig into the numbers, the full PvP breakdown compares the previous PvP values against their updated versions.

MODIFIER UPDATES

Modular Plates

  • Reworked to provide a large amount of active and passive Shield regeneration instead of instantly restoring Shield health. This replaces the previous effect, which did not always trigger as intended.

Signed, Shield, Delivered

  • Activating the Modifier now also refills the magazine of your currently equipped weapon without consuming ammunition from your reserves.

ZODIAC LEGACY CLIMAX MISSION

Based on player feedback, we’ve made several changes to the seasonal Modifier resources available in the Nightclub: Zodiac Legacy Climax Mission.

  • Enemies that drop Canisters will now also drop 150 Munitions, with 12 Munitions drops available throughout the mission.
  • Starting the mission resets your Canisters and Munitions, then grants each player 100 Munitions and 12 Canisters.
  • Sample Size will be set to 800 when the mission begins. Players who previously reached a Sample Size above 800 during Y8S2 will keep their higher value.
  • Players joining a mission already in progress will not receive the starting Canister and Munitions grants but can still collect resources dropped by enemies.

GEAR AND WEAPONS

  • Changed Ember Engine's Spontaneous Combustion talent to not be applied through Pulse in PvP Environments. Secondary status effects applied alongside pulse such as EMP or Confuse, will continue to trigger the talent as intended.
  • The reconfiguration blueprints for Prima Donna and Steel & Sons ACR have been added to Inaya’s inventory. To make the corresponding blueprint available for purchase, you must own the item and have it in either your inventory or stash.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FIXES

Retaliation Project Chain

We’ve addressed issues that could prevent players from progressing through the Retaliation Project Chain. [TCTD2-7135]

Starting September 24, the Project Chain will return for one additional week with accelerated progression. Projects will unlock at one-hour intervals, instead of one per day.

All players will be able to complete the Project Chain again, including those who finished it during its original run, and earn its material rewards. The final Outfit Token can only be earned once. Players who already received it will not receive a second Token, while those who missed it during the original run will still be able to earn it.

Weapons & Talents

  • Fixed an issue where players could destroy their own deployed skills to incorrectly trigger weapon talents that require a kill.
  • Fixed an issue where the Flatline talent and its perfect variant were triggered upon destroying friendly skills.
  • Fixed an exploit with the "Prima Donna" Exotic Marksman Rifle where its talent could instantly revive players in PvP.
  • Fixed an issue where the Caduceus repair amount on critical hits was incorrect in PvP.
  • Fixed an issue where the Adrenaline Rush talent stacked more times than intended in PvP.
  • Fixed an issue where the Bloodsucker talent stacked more times than intended in PvP.

  • Fixed an issue where the Amplified Damage granted by the Blossom Harvest talent was not taken into account by Bewildered.
  • Fixed an issue where Hollow-Point Ammo did not amplify damage by the amount stated in its description. [TCTD2-6653]

Gear

  • Fixed an issue with the Striker's Gamble gear set where PvE and PvP talent stacks could incorrectly accumulate at the same time.
  • Fixed multiple issues with Acosta's Kneepads talent functionality in the Dark Zone.
  • Fixed an issue where the description for the Flashpoint talent on the Blast-Resistant Plate chest piece from the Ember Engine Gear Set displayed a 20% trigger chance instead of 60%.

Prototype

  • Fixed an issue where the Trapper augment had no effect in the Blackout Dark Zone.
  • Fixed an issue where the Echo augment dealt lower damage than intended in the Blackout Dark Zone.

Skills

  • Fixed discrepancies between gameplay and UI for Burn Sticky Bomb damage in PvP.
  • Fixed an issue where zones created by the Achilles Pulse skill took incorrect damage during PvP.
  • Fixed an issue where Achilles Pulse zone duration stats rounded incorrectly at higher Skill Tiers in PvP.
  • Fixed an issue where Riot Foam health did not scale correctly with Skill Tiers and received incorrect damage in PvP.
  • Fixed an issue where the Banshee Pulse disorient duration was shorter than intended against players in the Dark Zone.
  • Fixed an issue where the Artificer Hive range during deployment was larger than its range once deployed.

Modifiers

  • Fixed an issue in Escalation where the debuff from the Variety Pack mutator was not removed after an assist kill.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies killed by damage spread through the One For All mutator could fail to drop items, or drop them at a lower rate than intended. [TCTD2-5789]

Missions

  • Fixed an issue where completing the weekly Classified Assignment Projects did not grant the intended reward. [TCTD2-6524]
  • Fixed an issue in the ViewPoint Museum Escalation where the mission could fail despite destroying the EMP Jammers within the required time. [TCTD2-5824]
  • Fixed an issue where target dummies in the Accuracy section of the Shooting Range could become immune to damage.

Vendors and Store

  • Fixed an issue where purchasing certain outfits with Outfit Tokens did not grant all pieces of the outfit. [TCTD2-6136]
  • Fixed an issue where Y8S3 Seasonal Caches could not be purchased from the Textile Vendor. [TCTD2-6654]
  • Fixed an issue where a Y8S2 Seasonal Cache was incorrectly available from the Countdown Vendor.
  • Fixed an issue where the reconfiguration blueprint for the Investor Exotic Mask could not be obtained from Inaya.

UI

  • Fixed an issue where the Mega Map displayed an incorrect timer for the free Classified Assignment. [TCTD2-6076]
  • Fixed an issue where an exclamation mark could remain above the Pilot after discovering the Broken Rain Incursion.
  • Fixed an issue where the "New locations available at the Pilot" notification could remain active after the relevant locations had already been discovered. [TCTD2-6634]

Connectivity

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent Xbox players from joining a friend’s game session. [TCTD2-6482]
  • Fixed an issue where some shots against moving NPCs could fail to register under higher-latency conditions. [TCTD2-6585]

The Division 2: Y8S3 - Red Horizon - Patch Notes

Y8S3 - Red Horizon - Patch Notes

Red Horizon launches August 27, bringing the Cleaners to Washington, D.C.

Following the events of Battle for Brooklyn, the Cleaners have lost their supply of purple flame and are heading to D.C. in search of a new source. Their presence will grow across the city throughout the season, with Cleaner activities, Elite Kill Squads, and more.

This season’s Modifier system centers on a new Pressure Gauge. Build it through combat, then experiment with different Active and Passive Modifiers to change how you use it.

The Dark Zone is also getting two major updates. Following community feedback, the Toxic PvE Dark Zone will become a permanent part of the game. On the PvP side, Blackout joins the rotation, removing the usual power restrictions and allowing Agents to bring the full strength of their builds into the Dark Zone, including SHD Watch bonuses, Expertise, and Prototype Gear.

MODIFIERS

=> Red Horizon Modifiers

The Cleaners are moving into Washington, D.C., and their presence will be hard to miss. They are becoming the main threat in Retaliations this season, with 95 Company Elite Squad becoming part of the threat.

Their growing presence sets the stage for this season’s Modifiers, and the heat does not stop with the Cleaners.

GLOBAL MODIFIER: UNDER PRESSURE

Under Pressure revolves around a Pressure Gauge that builds as you fight. Kills, headshots, multikills, Skill kills, Status Effect kills, fire kills, and kills made by other players in your group all contribute to the Gauge.

The more Pressure you build, the stronger the bonuses you receive.

By default, the Pressure Gauge provides Status Effects as its primary bonus. If Status Effects are not what your build needs, some Passive Modifiers can replace the Gauge's primary bonus with Signature Weapon Damage or Hazard Protection instead.

ACTIVE MODIFIERS

Your Pressure Gauge is also used to activate one of the season's three Active Modifiers.

Unlike previous seasons, this time Active Modifiers do not have a general cooldown. Once you have enough Pressure, you can activate one when you need it. The Gauge resets once the Active Modifier ends.

FIERY AURA

  • Secondary Attribute: Armor Regen.
  • While active, it gives you increased Armor Regen and Damage Resistance, with additional protection while sprinting. Enemies that get close to you are also set on fire the first time they enter the Modifier's range.
  • At higher levels, its defensive bonuses become stronger, and burning unique enemies can also regenerate Bonus Armor.

VICARIOUS COMBUSTION

  • Secondary Attribute: Headshot Damage.
  • Landing a headshot on an enemy that is already burning also applies Burn to nearby enemies. As the Modifier levels up, this effect reaches a larger area.
  • At its highest level, headshots can apply Burn directly.

SIGNED, SHIELD, DELIVERED

  • Secondary Attribute: Skill Efficiency.
  • While active, it improves your Signature Weapon performance, Shield Health, and Shield Active Regen. Kills made with a Signature Weapon, or while using a shield, refill your magazine without consuming ammo from your reserves.
  • At its highest level, these kills can also extend the duration of the Active Modifier.

PASSIVE MODIFIERS

Red Horizon comes with 20 Passive Modifiers, and they can help you adjust how Under Pressure works with your build.

Some can help you build Pressure faster or hold onto it for longer, others add new interactions with fire, Skills, grenades, shields, and Signature Weapons.

The default primary bonus of the Pressure Gauge is Status Effects, but with Passive Modifiers like New Formula: Beta and New Formula: Gamma, you can swap it for Signature Weapon Damage or Hazard Protection.

HOSTILE MODIFIERS

Hostile Modifiers will also play into the Pressure Gauge this season, with enemies able to drain your Pressure or make certain actions work against you.

Setting an affected enemy on fire is the only way to permanently remove or reverse the effect.

  • Draining Presence drains ammunition from your magazine and reduces your Pressure while the affected enemy is close to you.
  • Achilles' Heal restores Health to the affected enemy and nearby allies when you break their weak points or armor pieces, while also reducing your Pressure.
  • Thousand Cuts reduces your Pressure whenever the affected enemy hits you and applies a stacking Damage Reduction debuff.

NEW WEAPONS, GEAR, AND TALENTS

GEAR AND BRAND SET UPDATES

For Gear Sets, we are continuing to rebalance them around the idea that the more difficult a set is to use at its full potential, the more it should give back in return.

For Red Horizon, the updates focus mostly on Red Core Gear Sets, with Ortiz: Exuro and True Patriot also included. Blue and Yellow Core Gear Sets will be addressed in future updates.

Brand Sets are also getting some changes. Bonuses such as Shock Resistance, Health, Incoming Repairs, and Swap Speed are being removed, and Protection from Elites now added as a new Brand Set bonus.

We have also reorganized weapon bonuses so that, for each weapon type, at least one Brand offers that bonus as its 1-piece bonus and another as its 2-piece bonus.

You can find the full breakdown of all Gear Set and Brand Set changes HERE.

There’s also one broader change to how we’ll handle Brand Sets going forward. Starting with Red Horizon, instead of adding new Brand Sets, we’ll add more Named pieces with Perfect Talents or Attributes to existing Brands.

WEAPON UPDATES

Steel & Sons ACR

  • Base Stability has been increased, reducing vertical coil.
  • Maximum stacks increased from 3 to 4.
  • Destroying an enemy weak point now causes them to take +30% Amplified Damage from you for 5s, up from 10%.

DETERMINED TALENT

Determined will now function like Perfect Determined, meaning a kill from a converted headshot will no longer trigger another guaranteed headshot.

The ability to chain body shots as headshots is not going away completely. That functionality is moving to the new Iron Will Exotic Chest through its Resolved Talent. Iron Will lets your next body shot count as a headshot without requiring a headshot kill first, and can be paired with Exotic MMRs or High-End MMRs using Talents other than Determined.

To support it, we are also buffing several MMR-related Gear Sets and Brand bonuses.

For more on the thinking behind the Determined changes, you can read our Developer Notes.

NEW EXOTIC WEAPON

=> Fafnir Exotic

Fafnir Exotic Shotgun Talent Dragon's Breath This weapon fires Dragon's Breath shells. Each shot has a 40% chance of applying Burn to the enemy. Weapon Damage is Amplified by 50% of your Status Effect bonus. Weapon Stats and Mods Optics: +15% Crit Chance Magazine: +5 Rounds Underbarrel: +10% Weapon Handling Note: Fafnir’s Burn application is still affected by the usual Status Effect diminishing returns on enemies. Because of this, you may sometimes see Burn applied less often than the 40% chance would suggest.

NEW EXOTIC GEAR

=> Iron Will Exotic

Iron Will Exotic Chest Talent Resolved PvE version: Your next body shot will be considered a headshot. Cooldown: 2s PvP version: Your next body shot will be considered a headshot. Cooldown: 3s Requires MMR, Rifle or Pistol.

NEW GEAR

=> Ember Engine Gear Set

Ember Engine Gear Set 2 Pieces equipped give 8% Skill Efficiency 3 Pieces equipped give 30% Status Effect 4 Pieces equipped unlock a new unique talent. Talent “Spontaneous Combustion” Every Status Effect you apply has a 40% chance of also applying Burn to the enemy. If the Status Effect initially applied was Burn, the enemy will receive +25% Burn Damage for the duration of the Burn. Chest and Backpack Talents: Chest Bonus - Talent “Flashpoint” Increase the chance of applying Burn of Spontaneous Combustion to 60%. Backpack Bonus – Talent “White Hot” Increase the Duration of the Burn Damage debuff of Spontaneous Combustion by 50%.

NEW NAMED GEAR

Trick Shot Named Imminence Armaments Chest Talent Perfect Reassigned Killing an enemy adds 1 round of a random special ammo into your sidearm. Cooldown: 8s.
Rushdown Named Richter & Kaiser GmbH Chest Talent Tag Team The last enemy you have damaged with a skill is marked. Dealing weapon damage to that enemy consumes the mark to reduce active cooldowns by 12s. Cooldown: 4s
Melon Baller Named Airaldi Holdings Backpack Talent Perfect Concussion Headshots increase total weapon damage by 20% for 1.5s. 5s with marksman rifles. Headshot kills increase total weapon damage by 15% for 10s.
Keeper Named 5.11 Tactical Backpack Talent Perfect Protector When your shield is damaged, you gain +25% bonus armor and all other allies gain +35% of your armor as bonus armor for 3s. Cooldown: 3s

NEW NAMED WEAPONS AND TALENTS

Teapot Talent Perfect Boiling Point The first 48% of your magazine will have -100% Critical Hit Chance. The rest will have 100%.
Steamer Talent Perfect Boiling Point The first 48% of your magazine will have -100% Critical Hit Chance. The rest will have 100%.
Talent “Boiling Point” The first 53% of your magazine will have -100% Critical Hit Chance. The rest will have 100%.

RETALIATION

It's been one year since Retaliation launched, and to mark the occasion, you'll be able to take on a special Project Chain from September 8 to September 22.

The objectives will send you back into Retaliations against different factions. Each completed Project comes with useful materials and caches, with an Outfit Token waiting at the end as the main reward. You can use it to unlock one eligible outfit of your choice from the store.

And there’s more to earn during the first week. From September 8 to September 15, Retaliation Surge will be active, doubling the Retaliation Faction Materials you earn from all sources.

DARK ZONE AND PVP

Red Horizon brings Blackout into the Dark Zone rotation, and Toxic DZ remains as a permanent PvE variant.

Dark Zone variants will rotate weekly across DZ West, East, and South, with one PvE and two PvP Dark Zones available at any given time. Toxic and Balanced will remain active each week, while Blackout and Classic will alternate on a weekly basis.

TOXIC DARK ZONE

=> Toxic Dark Zone

The Toxic Dark Zone is here to stay. With the Into the Dark seasonal Modifiers no longer active, we have made a few changes so it can continue as a permanent PvE Dark Zone:

  • Other factions can now appear in the Toxic DZ, including Black Tusk.
  • Sample Canisters and Surge have been removed.
  • Toxicity has been adjusted, and extracting your gear will now clear your Toxicity level.
  • Normalization remains active to scale players and their gear to level 40. However, PvP-specific overrides for talents, Gear Sets, skills, and weapons are not active, meaning these will use their PvE values against enemies. Prototype Gear will remain normalized, similar to Raids and Incursions.

REWARDS

Landmark chests in the Toxic Dark Zone now have 20% chance to drop a contaminated cache. These caches use the same special loot pool as the PvP Dark Zones, including Exclusive and Raid Gear Sets, legacy DZ-exclusive weapons, Named Items, and Exotic.

BLACKOUT DARK ZONE

=> Blackout DarkZone

(PvEvP / Non-Normalized / Global PvP Balance: Active / SHD & Expertise: Active / Rogue Protocol: Active)

For those of you who have been asking for a fully uncapped Dark Zone, Blackout is exactly that. It completely removes stat normalization, so you can use the full power of your build, including your SHD Watch and Expertise upgrades.

The zone is permanently Invaded, with Black Tusk as the main enemy faction, and you’ll also encounter tougher Veteran, Elite, and Named enemies.

Rogue Protocol remains active, and Global PvP Balance still applies to weapons, gear, and Skills. Prototype Gear and Weapons can also use their full base stats in Blackout. Their Augments, however, will still use the PvP-balanced values.

REWARDS

Blackout loot drops at Heroic quality, matching the other PvP Dark Zones. There is also a 20% chance to receive an additional contaminated item from the special Dark Zone loot pool, including Exclusive and Raid Gear Sets, legacy DZ-exclusive weapons, Named Items, and Exotic.

With Red Horizon, Ortiz: Reficere, Caduceus, and Nurse's Kneepads have also been added to the special loot pool for PvP Dark Zones.

Prototype Gear and Weapons can also drop as contaminated loot from enemies, with stronger enemies offering better chances and higher stat rolls:

  • Normal Enemies: 0.2% Chance for Prototype Drop - Mid Stat Rolls
  • Elite Enemies: 0.5% Chance for Prototype Drop - Mid Stat Rolls & 0.2% Chance for Prototype Drop - High Stat Rolls
  • Boss Enemies: 1% Chance for Prototype Drop - Mid Stat Rolls and 2% Chance for Prototype Drop - High Stat Rolls.

Exotic Component drop rates match the other PvP Dark Zones:

  • Challenging Landmark Phoenix Crates: 33%
  • Challenging Landmark Bosses: 40%
  • Heroic Landmark Phoenix Crates: 40%
  • Heroic Landmark Bosses: 48%

GLOBAL PVP BALANCE

Our Global PvP Balance work continues in Red Horizon with another round of improvements.

The goal remains to make PvP fights less about taking someone down instantly and give you more time to react and fight back. We also want more Talents, Weapons, Skills, and Set Bonuses to feel worth using, rather than having the same few choices

Skills have received adjustments to both their base values and how they scale across Skill Tiers. These changes apply to Conflict and all PvP Dark Zone variants.

Gear Set and Brand Set bonuses have also been adjusted separately for PvP where needed. New Talents have been balanced for PvP as well, together with adjustments to some existing outliers.

You can find the full list of Skill changes HERE, and the full breakdown of Gear Set, Brand Set, and Talent changes HERE.

QOL AND UPDATES

PVP STAT DISPLAY

  • PvP weapon damage values will now be displayed directly in your Inventory alongside their PvE values. Your stats will also automatically switch to their corresponding PvP values when entering a PvP environment.
  • You can now test PvP Normalization stats and Global PvP Balance overrides directly in the Shooting Range by enabling the PvP settings before heading into Conflict or the Dark Zone.
  • The Inventory Normalization button will be temporarily unavailable while we make updates to the UI.

BLUEPRINTS AND LOOT

  • True Patriot and Ongoing Directive materials and blueprints have been added to the General Loot Pool.
  • The following blueprints have also been added to the General Loot Pool:
    • Unit Alloys

The Division 2 - Red Horizon PTS Developer Notes

Red Horizon PTS Developer Notes

DETERMINED TALENT AND MARKSMAN RIFLES

Determined was one of the most discussed changes during the PTS, and the feedback around it was divided. Some of you supported the change and wanted to see more options for MMR builds, while others asked us to leave it as is.

One of the main reasons we wanted to make this change is the interaction between the current version of Determined and Headhunter. Once Determined is active, a body shot converted into a headshot can trigger Determined again if it kills the enemy. Combined with Headhunter, this allows the chain to continue after the initial headshot kill.

This also leaves us with less room to improve MMRs and any related gear, because increasing their damage can make that Determined + Headhunter setup even stronger.

Another reason, and one that is just as important, is the work we are doing on the endgame beyond Red Horizon. We have more additions planned for you, and part of preparing for that means addressing some of the balance issues and meta outliers that can limit what we can do. Determined is one of those cases.

That is why, after reviewing the feedback, we have decided to move forward with the change to Determined. Doing this now gives us more freedom to add and improve things in the future for everyone.

With the final version, Determined will function like Perfect Determined, meaning a converted headshot kill will no longer retrigger the Talent. But the current chaining functionality is not disappearing completely. It is moving to the Iron Will Exotic Chest, freeing up the weapon Talent slot so you can use it with Exotic MMRs, High-End MMRs with a different Talents, and Pistols like Regulus and The Harvest.

We also heard the feedback from those who rely on Determined because MMRs can feel difficult to use without it. This is something we want to address as well. We are looking into a Handling pass for Marksman Rifles and Rifles to make them feel better to use, although we do not have a timeline to share for that yet.

The upcoming Red Horizon season will also include buffs to MMR-related Gear Sets and Brands, including Hotshot and Aces & Eights, as well as increases to MMR Damage bonuses on Brand Sets. We want to give Marksman Rifle builds more options rather than having so much of their strength tied to one Talent combination.

This was one of the harder decisions coming out of the PTS, and we know not everyone will agree with it. After reviewing the feedback and looking at where we want to take the game next, we believe this is the right decision to make. We still want to thank everyone who took the time to explain what Determined means to their builds and how they use it.

NEW GEAR, WEAPONS, TALENTS

A lot of the feedback around gear and weapons focused on some of the new options not feeling strong enough in practice. Here are the changes we’ve made based on what we saw during the test:

BOILING POINT WEAPON TALENT

  • Standard: the portion of the magazine with -100% Critical Hit Chance has been reduced from 80% to 53%.
  • Perfect version: the portion of the magazine with -100% Critical Hit Chance has been reduced from 75% to 48%.

EMBER ENGINE GEAR SET

  • Spontaneous Combustion Burn application chance increased from 20% to 40%.
  • Flashpoint Chest bonus increased from 40% to 60%.

FAFNIR EXOTIC SHOTGUN

  • Dragon's Breath chance to apply Burn increased from 10% to 40%.
  • Weapon Damage scaling from your Status Effects bonus increased from 30% to 50%.

IRON WILL EXOTIC CHEST

  • PvE cooldown: increased from 1s to 2s.
  • PvP cooldown increased from 2s to 3s.

INCINERATOR TURRET

  • Base cooldown reduced from 60s to 30s.

AIRALDI HOLDINGS BRAND SET

  • PvE: 2-piece Headshot Damage increased from 13% to 26%.

GRUPO SOMBRA BRAND SET

  • PvE: 3-piece Headshot Damage increased from 13% to 39%.

MURAKAMI INDUSTRIES BRAND SET

  • We have reverted the Brand Set changes tested during the PTS.
    • 2-piece bonus: reverted to +35% Repair Skills.
    • 3-piece bonus: back to +18% Skill Damage.

MODIFIERS

A lot of the feedback during the test was about the Pressure Gauge and how quickly it decayed compared to how long it could take to build. We also saw that keeping the gauge up could feel harder in group play.

Based on that feedback, we made the following changes:

PRESSURE GAUGE

  • Pressure Gauge decay has been made less aggressive and will now start later.
  • Some actions that build Pressure have been buffed.
  • A new Group Kill action has been added. You will now gain 1% Pressure whenever another player in your group gets a kill.

HOSTILE MODIFIERS

  • Achilles' Heal: Pressure Gauge loss from breaking an armor piece or weak point has been reduced from 10% to 5%.
  • Draining Presence: Radius reduced from 7m to 5m.

Remember that setting an affected enemy on fire will remove the Hostile Modifier effects and permanently disable them for that enemy.

ACTIVE MODIFIERS

We also heard that the Active Modifiers themselves needed more impact, so all three have received buffs.

Fiery Aura

  • Armor Regen is now percentage-based, ranging from 0.5% to 1.5% Armor per second.
  • At Level 5, Damage Resistance while sprinting can now reach 100%.
  • Burn duration has been increased.
  • At Level 5, Armor Regen per unique enemy burned has been increased to 15%.

Vicarious Combustion

  • The range of the headshot effect has been doubled.
  • The Burn Damage penalty has been reduced from 50%-25% to 50%-10%.
  • Burn duration has been slightly reduced.
  • The cooldown of its Level 5 effect has been reduced.

Signed, Shield, Delivered

  • Shield Health and Shield Active Regen have been increased.

DARK ZONES AND PVP

BLACKOUT DARK ZONE

You told us Blackout enemies were going down a little too easily. They've taken the feedback personally and will be tougher in the season release.

Prototype Gear and Weapon drop rates have also been adjusted:

  • Normal Enemies: 0.2% Chance for Prototype Drop - Mid Stat Rolls
  • Elite Enemies: 0.5% Chance for Prototype Drop - Mid Stat Rolls & 0.2% Chance for Prototype Drop - High Stat Rolls
  • Boss Enemies: 1% Chance for Prototype Drop - Mid Stat Rolls and 2% Chance for Prototype Drop - High Stat Rolls.

We also added Ortiz: Reficere, Caduceus, and Nurse's Kneepads to the special Loot Pool for PvP Dark Zones.

PVP BALANCE

After reviewing your feedback around the PvP balance pass, we've made some adjustments to Skills, Talents, Gear and Brand Set bonuses.

We saw that Tier 6 fire-based Skill builds could become too strong in PvP when combined with Ember Engine, so we've made some PvP specific adjustment to the set:

  • Spontaneous Combustion: Chance to apply Burn is 8%, with +8% Burn Damage if the Status Effect initially applied was Burn.
  • Flashpoint: Increases Spontaneous Combustion’s Burn application chance to 12%.
  • White Hot: Increases the duration of Spontaneous Combustion’s Burn Damage debuff by 12%.

We also heard concerns around the strength of several Bonus Armor Talents. Bloodsucker, Unbreakable, Protected Reload, and Adrenaline Rush have all received some adjustments.

For the full breakdown, check out the PvP Set Bonus and Talents Rebalance and PvP Skill Rebalance sheets.

PVP STAT DISPLAY

Some of you also reported that PvP stats were not always displayed clearly while checking your builds.

Starting with Red Horizon, your inventory will show your PvP weapon damage directly below the PvE value, and your displayed stats will automatically switch to their PvP values when you enter any PvP environment.

You will also be able to check your PvP Normalization stats and PvP Balance overrides in the Shooting Range by activating the PvP switches.

As part of these changes, the Inventory Normalization button will be temporarily removed while we update the UI.

The Division 2 - Y8 Season 3 – Red Horizon - PTS Patch Notes

Y8 Season 3 – Red Horizon - PTS Patch Notes

Get an early look at what’s coming with the Red Horizon season and help us test the new Blackout Dark Zone, seasonal Modifiers, PvP balance changes, and new gear.

The Public Test Server will be available on PC through Ubisoft Connect from Friday, August 14 at 2PM CEST to Monday, August 17 at 2PM CEST.

The approximate size of the PTS build is 100 GB.

MODIFIERS

Cleaners are coming to Washington, D.C. and gradually expanding their presence across the map.

  • For the duration of the season, Cleaners will appear throughout the open world in Washington, D.C. They will be able to take over Control Points, spawn activities, and initiate Retaliations in Named Zones.
  • During Retaliations involving other factions, Cleaners will also passively build up Agitation instead of Black Tusk.
  • A new Cleaner Elite Kill Squad, 95 Company, can also spawn during Retaliations, similar to BTSU Team 9 and the Knock Knock Gang.

GLOBAL MODIFIER: UNDER PRESSURE

Under Pressure revolves around a Pressure Gauge that builds as you fight and grants stronger bonuses the higher it gets. Spend too long out of cover, however, and that pressure will start to drop.

The gauge can be filled through different actions:

  • Kills: 2.5%
  • Headshot kills: 2%
  • Multikills: 2%
  • Grenade kills: 3%
  • Skill kills: 3%
  • Status Effect kills: 3.5%
  • Fire kills: 5%

These bonuses can stack. For example, a headshot kill grants 2.5% for the kill itself and another 2% for the headshot, for a total of 4.5%.

  • The gauge freezes while your Active Modifier is in use and resets to 0 when it ends.
  • Bonuses increase as the gauge reaches the 10%, 35%, 65%, and 90% thresholds.

By default, the Pressure Gauge provides Status Effects as its primary bonus:

  • 0 to 10% Gauge: 0% Status Effects
  • 10 to 35% Gauge: +15% Status Effects
  • 35 to 65% Gauge: +25% Status Effects
  • 65 to 90% Gauge: +40% Status Effects
  • 90 to 100% Gauge: +65% Status Effects

Each Active Modifier also provides its own secondary bonus from Level 3 onward. The primary bonus can also be changed from Status Effects to Signature Weapon Damage or Hazard Protection through the New Formula Beta and New Formula Gamma Passive Modifiers.

ACTIVE MODIFIERS

This season once again comes with three different Active Modifiers. Unlike previous seasons, however, Active Modifiers will no longer have a cooldown.

You will be able to activate them at any time as long as your Pressure Gauge is above the required threshold. Once an Active Modifier is used, the Pressure Gauge resets to 0.

FIERY AURA

  • Secondary Attribute: Armor Regen.
  • Starting at Level 3, the progression per tier is 5k, 6k, 7k, and 10k.
  • While active, you gain +25% to +65% Damage Resistance depending on the level, plus an additional +25% Damage Resistance while sprinting.
  • Enemies that come within 5 to 10m of you, depending on the level, receive the Burn Status Effect the first time they enter that range. This can only trigger once per enemy.
  • At Level 5, you also regenerate 10% Bonus Armor for each unique enemy burned during the Active Modifier.

VICARIOUS COMBUSTION

  • Secondary Attribute: Headshot Damage.
  • Starting at Level 3, the progression per tier is 10%, 20%, 30%, and 50%.
  • Landing a headshot on an enemy that is on fire also applies Burn to all enemies within 5 to 10m of that enemy, depending on the level.
  • Burn Damage is reduced by 50% to 25%, depending on the level, for the duration of the Active Modifier.
  • At Level 5, headshots also apply Burn to enemies for the duration of the Active Modifier.

SIGNED, SHIELD, DELIVERED

  • Secondary Attribute: Skill Efficiency.
  • Starting at Level 3, the progression per tier is 10%, 12.5%, 15%, and 25%.
  • While active, you gain increased Signature Weapon Range and Damage, as well as increased Shield Health and Shield Active Regen.
  • Killing an enemy with a Signature Weapon, or while using a shield, refills your magazine without consuming ammo from your reserves.
  • This applies to both Signature Weapons and regular weapons used while a shield is active.
  • At Level 5, Signature Weapon kills extend the duration by 2 seconds, while kills made with a shield active extend it by 1 second. These effects can stack.

PASSIVE MODIFIERS

This season comes with 20 different Passive Modifiers, allowing you to mix and match their effects for different benefits.

  • Flow Regulator: Earn +10% Pressure Gauge per action.
  • Throttle Valve: Earn +25% Pressure Gauge per action, but the gauge decays 50% faster.
  • Flux Stabilizer: Pressure Gauge decay is 25% slower.
  • Pressure Control: Pressure Gauge decay is 50% slower, but Pressure Gauge gain is reduced by 20% per action.
  • Quality Seals: Pressure Gauge decay begins after a longer period of time.
  • Delayed Venting: Pressure Gauge bonuses are now applied at 0%, 20%, 50%, and 80%. Active Modifiers can also be used at a 10% lower threshold than normal.
  • Leaky Valve: Pressure Gauge decay is no longer stopped by staying in cover or during cover-to-cover moves. Pressure Gauge gains are increased by 50% from all actions. Active Modifiers can only be activated above 95% Pressure, regardless of other effects. Decay is paused while out of combat.
  • Vacuum Seal: Pressure Gauge no longer decays, but Pressure Gauge gains are reduced by 50% from all actions.
  • New Formula: Beta: The primary Pressure Gauge bonus is now Signature Weapon Damage instead of Status Effects. If equipped together with New Formula: Gamma, both effects are disabled. Progression is 10%, 20%, 30%, and 50%.
  • New Formula: Gamma: The primary Pressure Gauge bonus is now Hazard Protection instead of Status Effects. If equipped together with New Formula: Beta, both effects are disabled. Progression is 5%, 15%, 25%, and 40%.
  • Microwave Coils: Up to four enemies affected by Pulse have a 30% chance to receive the Burn Status Effect. Gain 3% bonus Pressure for every affected enemy.
  • New Model: The K8 Jetstream Flamethrower receives the following stat changes: +30% Damage to Named Enemies, -15% total Damage, -50% Spread, +100% Range, and +25% Equip Speed. Picking up Specialization Ammo also doubles the amount received.
  • Afterburner: After killing a burning enemy, gain +20% Movement Speed for 30 seconds.
  • Flint and Steel: Shooting an enemy while your skill is also dealing damage to them sets the enemy on fire. Cooldown: 15 seconds.
  • Fire with Fire: While in combat, being affected by Burn increases your Burn Damage by 50% for 30 seconds.
  • Reserve Tank: After using an Active Modifier, the Pressure Gauge resets to 20% instead of 0%.
  • All or Nothing: Gauge bonuses below 80% are reduced to 0. Gauge bonuses above 80% are increased by 25% of their value. If equipped together with Kickstart, both effects are disabled.
  • Kickstart: Gauge bonuses above 80% are reduced to 0. Gauge bonuses below 80% are increased by 50% of their value. If equipped together with All or Nothing, both effects are disabled.
  • Firestarter: Concussion Grenades, Flashbangs, and Cluster Grenades gain +100% Range and apply a short Burn to enemies caught in the blast.
  • Modular Plates: Armor Kits also grant +100% Bonus Armor and restore 100% of your shield's maximum health. Insta Armor Kits grant +25% Bonus Armor and restore 50% of your shield's maximum health.

HOSTILE MODIFIERS

This season, Hostile Modifiers will work against you by reducing your stats and interfering with the Pressure Gauge.

Setting an affected enemy on fire is the only way to permanently remove or reverse these effects.

  • Draining Presence: While this enemy is within 7m of you, you lose 10% of your magazine and 1% of your Pressure Gauge every second.
  • Achilles' Heal: Breaking any of this enemy's weak points or armor pieces restores 50% Health to them and allies within 10m. You also lose 10% of your Pressure Gauge for every weak point or armor piece broken.
  • Thousand Cuts: Each time this enemy hits you, you lose 1% of your Pressure Gauge and receive a stacking 0.5% Damage Reduction debuff for 15 seconds. The duration refreshes with each additional hit.

DARK ZONE AND PVP

Season 3 will come with a new variant of the PvP Dark Zone, the Blackout Dark Zone, and the return of the PvE Toxic Dark Zone, with some changes applied to it.

Dark Zone variants will rotate every week across DZ West, East, and South. There will always be one PvE and two PvP Dark Zones available.

For this test, you will have access to the Toxic DZ, Blackout DZ, and Balanced DZ.

TOXIC DARK ZONE

We have decided to keep the PvE Toxic Dark Zone as a permanent feature. Based on community feedback, and to keep it functional without the Into the Dark season modifiers, we have made some changes:

  • Other factions have been added to the Toxic DZ, including Black Tusk.
  • Sample Canisters and Surge mechanics have been removed.
  • Toxicity debuff values have been adjusted, and extracting gear will now clear your Toxicity level.
  • PvP Normalization has been removed. You will be able to use your PvE build stats, with Prototype Gear remaining normalized, similar to Raids and Incursions.

BLACKOUT DARK ZONE

(PvEvP / Non-Normalized / Global PvP Balance: Active / SHD & Expertise: Active / Rogue Protocol: Active)

For those of you who have been asking for a fully uncapped Dark Zone, Blackout is exactly that. No stat normalization, and the full power of your build at your disposal.

  • The zone is permanently set to Invaded, with high-threat Black Tusk enemy archetypes. Rogue Protocol remains active.
  • Veteran, Elite, and Named enemies have been made tougher to provide more of a challenge.
  • Unlike the other variants, Blackout completely disables stat normalization. You can use the full extent of your SHD Watch and Expertise upgrades.
  • It still follows the Global PvP Balance rules, regardless of normalization, to keep weapons, gear, skills, and core PvP mechanics balanced.
  • Prototype weapons and gear are uncapped for their base stats, but their Augments will still use the PvP-balanced values introduced with Y8S2.3 Title Update.

Blackout DZ loot drops at Heroic quality, matching the other PvP Dark Zones. It also follows the same special loot pool rules, with a 25% chance to drop one additional contaminated item from the special loot pool.

Exotic Component drop rates also match the other PvP Dark Zones:

  • Challenging Landmark Phoenix Crates: 33% chance to drop an Exotic Component
  • Challenging Landmark Bosses: 40% chance to drop an Exotic Component
  • Heroic Landmark Phoenix Crates: 40% chance to drop an Exotic Component
  • Heroic Landmark Bosses: 48% chance to drop an Exotic Component

Prototype Gear and Prototype Weapons have also been added as contaminated loot drops from enemies:

  • Normal Enemies: 0.5% chance for a Prototype drop, mid stat rolls
  • Elite Enemies: 1% chance for a Prototype drop, mid stat rolls
  • Elite Enemies: 1% chance for a Prototype drop, high stat rolls
  • Boss Enemies: 1% chance for a Prototype drop, mid stat rolls
  • Boss Enemies: 2% chance for a Prototype drop, high stat rolls

GLOBAL PVP BALANCE

The Global PvP Balance work continues in Red Horizon, this time covering Skills, Gear and Brand Set bonuses, and Talents in PvP.

Our main goal with these PvP changes is to make fights less about deleting someone instantly and give you more time to react and fight back. We also want to make more Talents, Weapons, Skills, and Set Bonuses worth using, so there is more room to experiment with different builds instead of everyone ending up with the same few options.

Skills

  • We have done a broader pass on Skills across PvP, with changes to their base values and Skill Tiers.
  • These changes apply to Conflict and all PvP Dark Zone variants.
  • You can check the full list of Skill changes here.

Gear and Brand Set Bonuses

  • With Gear Sets and Brand Sets also getting changes in the new season, their PvP bonuses have been adjusted separately where needed.
  • Check the full list of changes here.

GEAR, WEAPONS, AND TALENTS

Y8S3 brings new weapons and gear, as well as several updates to existing Gear Sets, Brand Sets, and Talents.

CHANGES AND UPDATES

Below is an overview of what is changing, and you can find the full list of Gear Set and Brand Set changes here.

Gear Sets

  • Gear Sets will be rebalanced around the idea that the more difficult a set is to use at its full potential, the more it should give back in return.
  • For Red Horizon season, we are starting mostly with Red Core Gear Sets, with Ortiz: Exuro and True Patriot also included in this pass.
  • Blue Core and Yellow Core Gear Sets will come later, as they require more individual changes than simply adjusting their bonuses for us to give them a meaningful update.

Brand Sets

Brand Sets will not only be rebalanced through number changes, but also by swapping some attributes in and out.

  • The following Brand Set bonuses are being removed: Shock Resistance, Health, Incoming Repairs, Swap Speed.
  • Protection from Elites is being added as a new Brand Set bonus.
  • For each weapon type, there will be at least one Brand that gives its weapon bonus as the 1-piece bonus, and another that gives it as the 2-piece bonus.
  • Increased Threat will be removed from Imminence Armaments and spread across Blue Core Brands instead.
  • These attribute changes will also apply to PvP. Unlike PvE, there are no number changes intended to buff or nerf individual Brands. Protection from Elites and Threat bonuses will also generally come after bonuses such as Armor Regen.
  • More niche bonuses, such as Explosive Damage, will remain unchanged.

Starting with Y8S3, we will no longer be adding new Brand Sets to the game.

This does not mean that new gear pieces will stop being added. Going forward, instead of adding six new High-End pieces and two Named pieces, we will add more Named pieces with Perfect Talents or Attributes to existing Brands.

This gives us more freedom when adding new pieces and gives community feedback more room to influence future Brand piece additions.

Determined

Determined will be changed to function like Perfect Determined, but its current functionality is not going away completely.

As part of the Seasonal Gear Package, we are adding the new Iron Will Exotic Chest.

Iron Will Exotic Chest Talent Resolved - PvE version: Your next body shot will be considered a headshot. Cooldown: 1s PvP version: Your next body shot will be considered a headshot. Cooldown: 2s Requires MMR, Rifle or Pistol.

Iron Will:

  • Treats body shots converted to headshots in a similar way to Determined.
  • Does not require a headshot kill first to trigger the guaranteed headshot.
  • Can be paired with Exotic MMRs or High-End MMRs using Talents other than Determined.

What will no longer be possible is pairing this functionality with the Headhunter Talent.

Along with this change, we are also buffing several Brands and Gear Sets related to Marksman Rifles, with the goal of making Iron Will paired with other MMRs competitive with the current Determined + Headhunter setup.

The Y8S2 version of Determined, as a Weapon Talent, interferes with the ability of meaningfully buffing certain items.

We are not looking to remove the Determined functionality entirely. The main issue is where it currently sits in your build, which is why we are moving it to the Chest slot.

As always, we’ll be following your feedback during the PTS and adjust where needed.

NEW EXOTIC WEAPON

Fafnir Exotic Shotgun Talent Dragon's Breath This weapon fires Dragon's Breath shells. Each shot has a 10% chance of applying Burn to the enemy. Weapon Damage is Amplified by 30% of your Status Effect bonus. Weapon Stats and Mods Optics: +15% Crit Chance Magazine: +5 Rounds Underbarrel: +10% Weapon Handling

NEW EXOTIC GEAR

Loaded for Bear* Exotic Gloves Talent Afterburn Hitting enemies applies stacks to them. An enemy cannot have more than 20 stacks applied to them. When reloading your weapon, all stacks will be consumed to deal 2% Weapon Damage per stack to the enemy they are applied on.

*This will be the Climax exclusive reward. It will not feature in the PTS.

NEW GEAR

Ember Engine Gear Set

  • 2 Pieces equipped give 8% Skill Efficiency
  • 3 Pieces equipped give 30% Status Effect
  • **4 Pieces Talent “Spontaneous Combustion”**Every Status Effect you apply has a 20% chance of also applying Burn to the enemy. If the Status Effect initially applied was Burn, the enemy will receive +25% Burn Damage for the duration of the Burn.
  • Chest and Backpack Talents: Chest Bonus - Talent “Flashpoint” Increase the chance of applying Burn of Spontaneous Combustion to 40%.
  • Backpack Bonus – Talent “White Hot” Increase the Duration of the Burn Damage debuff of Spontaneous Combustion by 50%.

NEW NAMED GEAR

We are adding two new Named Chest pieces and two new Named Backpacks across existing Brand Sets.

NEW NAMED WEAPONS & TALENTS

Teapot Talent Perfect Boiling Point The first 75% of your magazine will have -100% Critical Hit Chance. The rest will have 100%.
Steamer Talent Perfect Boiling Point The first 75% of your magazine will have -100% Critical Hit Chance. The rest will have 100%.
Talent “Boiling Point” The first 80% of your magazine will have -100% Critical Hit Chance. The rest will have 100%.

PTS TEST ONLY

During the test, all modifiers will be unlocked from the start.

Adam Shipley’s Inventory:

  • PTS Cache: Y8S3 Gear - Contains all upcoming Gear, their blueprints, their respective materials, and all other materials used in the Expertise system.
  • PTS Cache: Materials - Contains Brand and Gear Set materials not included in the Gear cache, Prototype Cores, Escalation Token, and other materials used in the Expertise system.
  • Journey Caches will also be available during the PTS.

Why is the PTS only available on PC?

Running the PTS on PC allows us to make changes and deploy new builds more quickly based on feedback during the test. Console updates require an additional certification process, which makes the quick turnaround needed for a PTS more difficult.

We’re looking forward to hearing what you think once you’ve had some time with the PTS. Join us on the official The Division Discord to share your feedback directly with the team!

CHANGES AND FIXES

PVP UPDATES

Y8S2.3 continues our work on PvP with changes to Dark Zone loot, another round of balancing, and new Shooting Range options to help you test your builds before heading into PvP.

DARK ZONE LOOT

Loot across the Toxic, Classic, and Balanced Dark Zones will now drop at Heroic quality.

In Classic and Balanced Dark Zones, Elites and bosses will also have a 25% chance to drop an additional item from a special contaminated loot pool. As with other contaminated loot, the item must be successfully extracted before it can be used.

When an additional item drops, its category will be selected according to the chances listed below. Each item within a category has an equal chance to drop.

Category Chance Included Items
High-Value Gear Sets 40% System Corruption, Yaahl Gear, Foundry Bulwark, Future Initiative, Aegis Gear, Breaking Point
High-Value Legacy Weapons 25% The Apartment, Dark Winter, The Virginian, Black Friday, The Railsplitter, Orbit, TDI “Kard” Custom, Pinprick, Harmony, Rock n’ Roll, Good Times, Manic, Born Great, Relic
High-Value Legacy Gear 15% Deathgrips, The Hallow Man, Claws Out, Ferocious Calm, Emperor’s Guard, Matador, The Gift, Door-Kicker's Knock, Liquid Engineer, Everyday Carrier, The Courier
Named Gear and Weapons 10% The Setup, The Sacrifice, Fox’s Prayer, Contractor’s Gloves, Picaro’s Holster, Punch Drunk, Nightwatcher, Zero Fs, White Death, Lefty, Mechanical Animal, Kingbreaker, Anarchist’s Cookbook, Firm Handshake, Closer, Henri, Stage Left, Everlasting Gaze
Exotics 6% St. Elmo’s Engine, Scorpio, Memento, Catharsis, Coyote’s Mask, NinjaBike Messenger Backpack, NinjaBike Messenger Kneepads, Vile, Iron Lung, Mosquito, Pestilence, Waveform, Mantis, Tardigrade Armor System, Lady Death, Strega, Oxpecker, Agitator, Whiplash, Investor Mask, Harrier, BTSU Datagloves, The Sheriff
High-Value Exotics 4% Eagle Bearer, The Ravenous

More updates will be made to this list in the future.

GLOBAL PVP BALANCE: PHASE II

The second phase of our PvP balancing focuses on Gear and Brand Set bonuses, Prototype Augments, and several individual talents.

Gear and Brand Set bonuses have been adjusted to give you more room to experiment with different builds, while bringing some of the strongest and weakest options closer together.

Prototype Augments have also received their own PvP values, in preparation for upcoming PvP content where Prototype Gear will be available. These changes reduce some of the more extreme damage and survivability combinations without affecting how the Augments perform in PvE.

Several talents have been adjusted as well, particularly where their performance created unusually large advantages in PvP.

You can find the full list of changes here.

SHOOTING RANGE PVP SIMULATION

=> PVP Toggles

You can now test how your build will perform under PvP rules without leaving the Shooting Range.

Two new control panels let you switch Normalization and Global PvP Balance on or off. Your stats will update automatically depending on the settings you choose.

  • Normalization applies the rules used in normalized PvP, including SHD Levels, Expertise, and Prototype Gear normalization.
  • Global PvP Balance applies the PvP values used for gear, talents, and Prototype Augments.

With Normalization enabled, the damage shown against targets will reflect your damage against another player. Turn it off to return to your regular damage against NPCs.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where audio sounds (gunshots, explosions, various FXs) could no longer be heard after extended play sessions. [TCTD2-2074]
  • Fixed an issue with Classified Assignment displaying previously unlocked Collectibles as available rewards for other Agents. [TCTD2-148]
  • Fixed an issue with Agent Kelso following the Agent in the Grand Washington Hotel mission without opening the door leading to Eleanor Swayer. [TCTD2-1913]
  • Fixed an issue with an enemy appearing in an unreachable area in Potomac Event Center mission. [TCTD2-5314]
  • Fixed an issue with Global Directives changing the displayed XP rewards for Raids and Incursions, despite not applying to these activities. [TCTD2-176]
  • Fixed an issue where entering Descent automatically claimed Event Pass rewards, preventing them from appearing in the player’s inventory.
  • Fixed an issue with the Breathless Pants clipping through vanity jackets.

If you encounter any issues you’d like to report, please use our Bug Reporter.

We appreciate the community’s contributions, reports and voting help us prioritize issues, and you can expect more of the top reported bugs to be addressed in future updates.

The Division 2 - Broken Rain Incursion / Event Pass / Stretch Goals / Climax Mission

Broken Rain Incursion

=> Trailer

=> Broken Rain Screenshot

Hurricane Morgan is closing in on rural Pennsylvania, where the Rikers have seized the Steel Creek Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant, one of the last functioning power stations on the East Coast.

With the reservoir rising and the facility at risk, Agents must breach the Rikers’ fortifications, take down the leaders controlling the stronghold, and secure the dam before the storm causes catastrophic damage.

Two special Arm Patches will be available to mark the launch of Broken Rain:

  • Complete the Incursion within the first 24 hours to receive both the Golden Beaver Arm Patch and the Silver Beaver Arm Patch.
  • Complete it within the first 7 days to receive the Silver Beaver Arm Patch.

To allow time for everyone to log in after maintenance on August 11, the reward window will begin one hour after the servers come back online. We will confirm the exact start and end times on @TheDivisionGame.

Prototype Gear

Prototype Gear can be used in Broken Rain, but its stats will be fully normalized. This means Prototype Augments will be disabled, and Prototype stats will be reduced to their minimum values. The same system is already used in Paradise Lost, Operation Iron Horse, and Operation Dark Hours. Keep this in mind when preparing your build for the Incursion.

Season 2.1 – The Call - Bug Report / Feedback

#The Division Resurgence - Bug Report / Feedback

=> Patch Notes

We want to avoid the cluttering of our sub by providing a single megathread. This way you can report the various issues in one place. This allows the devs to easily keep track of the bugs and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered the same issues.

Please note, this thread is just an alternative.

#Bug Reporter

In order to better collect bugs, requests and feedback from all players, the developers introduced the Bug Tracker:

=> https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/the-division/the-division-resurgence/bug-reporter/

Here you can contribute issues and ideas that you have regarding the game!

How this works:

  • check if your issue/idea has been reported already
  • if it exists, contribute to it to help us understand what's happening and how many people are affected
  • if it does not exist, create a new report

For the moment, reports are set to need the team's approval before appearing in the bug reporter.

Over the next few days and weeks, the teams will be looking at reports from our community and slowly start adding them to the tool.

##Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

  1. A bug will ideally be accompanied by a screenshot or a video.

  2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps the developers to recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

##NEW YORK IS CALLING FOR HELP!

#Bug Reporter

In order to better collect bugs, requests and feedback from all players, the developers introduced the Bug Tracker:

=> https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/the-division/the-division-resurgence/bug-reporter/

Known Issues

We're aware of an issue causing the current Classified Ops Pass to grant some incorrect rewards. A fix is in progress and expected to go live soon. Thanks for your patience.

No plans to nerf Striker's Battlegear

Since this caused some discussions here the official statement from the devs:

> Hello, agents!
> > We’d like to clarify something that might be misunderstood from our stream: we don’t have plans to nerf Striker's Battlegear soon.

> Here you can find the link to the moment of our recent stream that we discussed the topic: The Division 2 - Dev Notes - thedivisiongame on Twitch

> What we said during the stream is that we understand that this gear set is an outlier – because of both its power and its simplicity. A significant part of our community has Striker’s as their main build, and we don’t have plans to touch this in the near future for PvE.

> This section had us covering the questions from the chat, and we didn’t plan to discuss a Striker’s nerf. We used the opportunity to talk about the meta and Yannick briefly mentioned options we have for that, including buffing other sets.

> We will make sure to reinforce this message during the next stream to avoid misunderstandings.

Road to PC

  • From very early on Resurgence was played on emulators by a lot of players
  • Because of that, they released an early version for PC on Ubisoft Connect
  • Over the last months they worked on the mobile and PC version, adding more features to both versions and got the game ready for a full PC release.
  • As they were implementing these features, they listened closely to the community, what players like and especially what they don’t like and gathered a lot of information how to improve the game.

##Agent Care Protocol

  • Over the last updates a lot of changes were implemented to make the game better, but there is still a lot to do.

  • To tackle all these pending issues, they introduce the “Agent Care Protocol” – when an issue is reported, and they can implement a fix fast, they prioritize that fix and push it live as fast as possible.

  • The goal is to add

    • Bug fixes
    • UI improvements
    • Quality of life elements
    • Better anti cheat system
    • Balancing improvements

    as fast as possible

To improve the handling of issues, they introduce the Bug Reporter to The Division Resurgence:

Head over to the portal to

  • Report issues
  • Upvote issues
  • Help the developers prioritize issues

Bug Reporter

In order to better collect bugs, requests and feedback from all our players, we are replacing the Trello board with a fully-fledged bug tracker:

=> https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/the-division/the-division-resurgence/bug-reporter/

Over the next few days and weeks, our teams will be looking at reports from our community and slowly start adding them to the tool.

We aim for this tool to be fully integrated within our workflow by September, so please bear in mind that your report may not appear in the tool for a while.

Thank you for your help in making Resurgence better, one step at a time.
