Galaxy Watch 8 or switch to the Pixel Watch?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently using a Galaxy Watch 6 and I'm thinking about upgrading.

At the moment, I'm considering two options:

upgrading to a Galaxy Watch 8 (if I can find a good used deal), or switching brands and trying out the Google Pixel Watch.

The only thing that's holding me back from switching is that I use a Samsung phone, and I don't plan on moving to a Google Pixel phone anytime soon. Because of that, the Galaxy Watch 8 is still a strong option for me.

For those of you who have switched from a Galaxy Watch to a Pixel Watch:

Was it worth it?

Did you miss any Samsung-exclusive features?

Were there any limitations or compatibility issues when using the Pixel Watch with a Samsung phone?

If you had the choice again, would you stay with Samsung or switch to Google?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences before I make my decision. Thanks!

Switching from Galaxy Watch 6 to Pixel Watch 4 – any issues with a Samsung phone?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 together with a Samsung Galaxy phone, and I'm thinking about switching to the Google Pixel Watch 4 (45 mm, Wi-Fi).

My biggest question is: Are there any connection issues or major limitations when using a Pixel Watch with a Samsung phone instead of a Pixel phone?.

I'm aware that some features might be Pixel-exclusive, but I'm mainly wondering about day-to-day use. Does everything work reliably (notifications, calls, Google Wallet, Google Assistant, health tracking, etc.), or have you run into any annoying issues?

I'd also love to hear from anyone who has switched from a Samsung Galaxy Watch to a Pixel Watch. Was it worth it? Is there anything you miss from Samsung's ecosystem?

The reason I'm considering the switch is that I have the opportunity to buy a refurbished Pixel Watch 4 (45 mm, Wi-Fi) for €267, assuming my estimated €34.51 trade-in for my Galaxy Watch 6 isn't reduced or rejected. It seems like a pretty good deal, but I'd like to hear some real-world experiences before making a decision.

Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences!
