Rescuing a 1987 BMW 750iL V12 that sat outside for 12 years. Certified "Forest Find" 750iL?

Found this 1987 BMW 750iL outside in the forest last winter where it’s been sitting untouched for over a decade.

On a positive note, The M70 V12 isn’t seized and she cranks and holds oil pressure. The main body structure, subframes, and shock towers are surprisingly rock-solid, and the overall visual of this long-wheelbase autobahn cruiser is still incredible.

The bad news?
The car was parked in tall grass, and moisture did what moisture does, the outer sills are rusted out and will need patch sections welded in. On top of that a slightly leaking rear window has turned the interior into a biohazard.

As a industrial designer/builder, I’m taking this on as a full re-engineering project rather than just a basic cleanup. The plan is to get her mechanically 100%, and then start bring it up to todays spec with OEM+ upgrades.

Excited (and slightly terrified) to dive into this V12 money pit. What's the first thing you'd tackle on a revival like this?
