Powertime tonny problem
This is a review of what happened to me back when I didn’t really understand the market.
Be cautious when dealing with Powertime Tonny.
In January, I paid $2,800 to Powertime Tonny for a custom watch.
The project took over a month longer than originally promised. When the watch finally arrived, the movement was defective, the bracelet fit and tolerances were extremely poor, and the so-called 10-micron white gold plating he advertised had already started peeling off, as shown in the photos.
He told me to send the watch back to China for repairs. Because I was concerned about customs, I asked him specifically whether there would be any issues, and he assured me there would be none.
However, despite his assurances, I later confirmed that the shipment was rejected by Chinese customs due to missing or insufficient documentation and is currently being returned to me.
As of today, four months have passed since I placed the order in January.
He has now begun ignoring my messages entirely.
I am writing this post because I have noticed that quite a few users are interested in Powertime Tonny, and I want to share my experience honestly so that others can make a more informed decision.
He has now blocked me, deleted my post, and is ignoring me.

Why Rhodium Plating can't Replicate Rolex White Gold (WG plating)
Since the beginning of this year, I have been deeply interested in white gold (WG) plating and have conducted extensive research on the subject.
Rolex white gold is different from most other white gold alloys. One of its most distinctive characteristics is its slightly yellowish, warm tone.
This characteristic tends to become even more pronounced over time with wear.
The photos include genuine Rolex white gold models, ranging from brand-new pieces to older examples that have developed a richer and warmer tone over the years.
However, most aftermarket modders today use rhodium in their so-called white gold plating.
This is clearly incorrect.
Rhodium is a precious metal belonging to the platinum group, but it is not white gold.
In fact, rhodium plating is more appropriate for platinum models rather than white gold models.
Rhodium plating can never reproduce the slightly yellowish warm tone that is characteristic of Rolex white gold.
I am still actively researching this topic with several modders in an effort to recreate this unique warm tone, although it is certainly not an easy task.
There is only one reason I am writing this post:
“Rhodium plating is fundamentally incompatible with the color of Rolex white gold.”

Powertime tonny has problem
These are the issues with the watch I received.
From the beginning, he did not meet the promised timeline, and he has refused to provide a refund.
He asked me to send the watch back to China for repair and assured me that there would be no customs problems. However, the package failed customs clearance and is still in the process of being returned.
He took $2,800, but the watch quality is terrible, and more than four months have now passed without any proper resolution.
To make matters even worse, the movement is defective and the watch stops running.
This seller has problems.
They don’t even check messages properly, and there are issues with the product.
Please be careful.
