That's an APSF made Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph 26240CE purchased from Steve at TheOneWatches and then placed on a rubber strap for the summer months. It sits atop my latest book -- "Borrowed Time" by Gabe Oppenheim, the story of how the Swiss spied on Waltham's technology in 1876 and later used the parts business they were in to strangle American watch companies (by the 1950s, if you were an American watch company and you wanted a spare Swiss part you could obtain it only by turning over control over all the details of your manufacture to the Swiss -- and they could dictate how many watches you made and where you made and what you charged). By 1960, a whole bunch of the 23 Swiss watch defendants charged entered into a consent decree promising never to interfere in US watch manufacturing again...excrpt that consent was given not to tamper in this antitrust manner way too late. The US companies were shells of themselves. Oh, and Rolex violated the consent decree as recently as 2006 (before they used their legal team to get the judgment thrown out). My book asks: how did the tiny nation of Switzerland dominate watchmaking for centuries -- fairly or not? By hook or crook? And it tees up the back end of the book -- when Chinese artisans in Guangdong province rip off Swiss IP, including the ceramic AP chrono. The exhibition caseback is the key authentication point. During winding, the gear train operates clearly and visibly. The balance wheel features a black-disc design. Compared with the 2824-based versions, the central structure of the 8800 integrated movement is more open with no unnecessary obstructions. The movement bridge is engraved with VS Factory codes (e.g., 83669886), which can be used as a reference for identification.

Clasp and Bracelet Compatibility

Equipped with an extension clasp for easy adjustment. When set to the smallest configuration, the bracelet supports a maximum wrist circumference of approximately 20cm, suitable for most wearers.

I really like the strong warm tone that appears as Rolex white gold ages and oxidizes over time.

I previously discussed this with some Reddit users, and a few of them told me that if I’m in Korea, I should contact Qtime, so I decided to proceed with the project.

It took some time, but the final result came out perfectly, so I tried to take as many photos as possible.

In the middle, I also included photos of a 2019–2020 gen olive green Day-Date for color comparison.

Just wanted to share some exciting news and QC pics of a new release. CCC Factory just dropped their new Steel Bezel Daytonas (Ref. 116520), and the specs out of the box are looking incredibly solid.

Here is what they are bringing to the table:

Movement: The Dandong (DD) 4130 (We all know how good and reliable this is).

Dial & Hands: Equipped with SW Dial and Hands (Great lume, crisp printing, and excellent finishing).

Crystal: Upgraded deep Crystal (High transmittance, deep crystal effect out of the box).

Bezel: 1:1 replicated bezel molded directly from a Genuine sample.

Honestly, with the DD4130 and the SW dial/hands combo, this is practically a mini-franken straight from the factory.Both black and white dials are available. What do you guys think about this new player?
