Just waiting for my mudguards to arrive and i'll be ready for winter season

Just bought myself my first SAK and went with a compact, as the toolset was what spoke to me the most.

When it arrived I noticed that one of the scales didn't sit completely flush with the knife.

Having done some research before buying this thing, I knew the scales could be removed, and I noticed what looked to be a missing brass rivet?

Am I wrong?

Does it come like this from the factory? Which would seem weird as it looks like the rivet is what allows the scale to stick to the tool with friction alone
