Expert Tip: open both sides and place in bin when going through check point
Update: this is my second flight with it and no problems, so suck it haters!
Update II: I never said “this is guaranteed”, just expert tip
PS: thanks for the comments and concerns, and if you get the Jetsetter good luck on your travels
Tested out several models including my childhood Spartan for *years,* a Mountaineer, and briefly a Super Tinker. These three seem to cover everything I need outside of the woods.
Deluxe Tinker in my watch pocket, Troubleshooter deep in the pocket just-in-case during projects, and Champ on standby for when a wide variety of needs arise during said project. Did exactly that today and it worked out like a Champ.
I challenged myself to whittle something with a Victorinox Classic knife.
In short: it works! The blade is great and it's size allows for good control over details. Long periods of whittling or larger projects may however prove tiring if you have large muffin hands like myself.
It is great to know that you can have a perfectly capable whittling knife on your keychain!

hi everyone,
can you please help me understand what kind of tools are those?
thanks
The perfect toolset for me. Metal saw/file, scissors, pliers, and a Phillips on the back. Plus the hook. Also has a chisel. Five layers, not too large.
MacGyver might prefer simple SAKs, but he would’ve made great use of this model.
Just thought I’d share ! Super excited to add these to my collection

I recently picked up a laser engraver and my titanium scaled Explorer seemed like the perfect first project. I have a lot to learn with laser engraving, and maybe I should have picked something that didn't take me hours of work to make in the first place, but overall I'm pleased. I love topo designs and I think it's fitting for the Explorer! I sort of regret engraving the pocket clip but that's easily replaceable.
Hi all,
I just got and really love the Synergy X, however the liner lock is illegal in the UK so I want to remove / disable it.
Any thoughts of a good approach? The neatest solution of course would be to dremmel the pins and redo it all but that's not an option for me.
I'd be happy to just break / cut ut. But It's quite a small space, so just bending / working with pliers isn't workable it seems - a diamond file might be possible in theory but it's so hard to work in the small space.
Any kind of tool that can cut metal and would get into this space? Bolt cutters come to mind but I think they are quite chunky at the tip for obvious reasons? 🤔
Appreciate any thoughts, even trollish ones telling me I'm an idiot!
Stephen
I've seen people speculate about 3D printing stuff for the synergy gaps. Well you can get a fire steel in there nice and neat and snug with much less effort.
Take one of the tortoise gear mini firesteels that victorinox now sell and cut it with wire cutters e.g. on pliers to roughly the right shape (the large gap on the back side is best)
Then wrap it in cling film. This is key as you can trial and error just the right number of layers for a snug fit.
This one now just sits there, never slips out, causes no fuss.
Also the same brand waxy tinder can easily be remoulded and stuffed under the scissors or the knife, there's lots of space. So you have a full emergency fire kit.
Woop.
Im a teenage girl wanting a swiss army knife for self defense and other things how good is this brand? (Im on a budget And i wanna see if this is a good brand)
Haven't carried this in ages. It's out and about with me today
Hi, please kindly help me to identify this model. First, I thought it was a Fisherman, but this one has different back tools.
I stumbled across this knife on a YouTube video and was so struck by the cast scales that I had to add it to my collection. I probably paid too much, but I don’t even think about that now that I have it. It’s so beautiful. The knife is made by a guy named Michael Zieba
The watch pocket is perfect for a 4-layer SAK, but getting my fingers in there to pull it out was annoying. Necessity is the mother of invention; complicated solutions are the crazy drunk uncle.
