Have you ever had a memory of something unexplained, but you're not certain if it actually happened or if your mind just made it up??

This is pretty strange, and is something I've never told anyone about or posted anywhere before. Over the past couple of years, I've recalled a "memory" of seeing a creature resembling Bigfoot, decades ago. But I can't be sure if it actually happened or not...

In my 20s, I used to go mountain biking alone in a rural area in SW Pennsylvania. There was a trail I'd ride on that was about 10-12 miles long, winding through remote, wooded hills in that area.

The "memory" that I have is this: one time, when on the return ride back to the car (I still had miles to go), I took a break. Stopped the bike and got off for a few minutes. (This was broad daylight, either in the late morning or mid-afternoon.) I looked behind me down the trail, in the direction from which I had just come. Suddenly a large, hairy, ape-like creature covered in brown fur walked across the trail (on two legs) from right to left, about 70-80 yards away. It didn't look at me, wasn't hurried, just walked straight across the trail and disappeared into the woods. I only saw it for about a few seconds. I think my reaction was something like "WTF was that??!!" I did not go back to that area to check it out as far as I remember, just continued on back to my car.

What I "saw" in this memory was absolutely not a bear, and it could only have been one of two things: Bigfoot, or a prankster dressed up in an ape suit. (but a prankster seems unlikely, as that trail does not get many people on it at all, and that person would have been waiting in that particular spot a long time to "reveal" himself to someone passing by. Plus I easily could have missed the sighting altogether if I had not looked back at that exact moment) Is it possible that since my brain had no frame of reference for such a creature, that my mind just blotted out the memory for a long time?

If that actually happened to me, why didn't I have many sleepless nights about it? I don't even recall dwelling on it at all on the car ride back home. How did I somehow block it from my mind, for decades?? And if it didn't actually happen, why would some event that my mind made up be so specific? Why would my mind make up an event from 30+ years ago? And why do I continue to think about it now from time to time, more than 30 years after it "happened"? It's very perplexing.

Also, a few years back, I looked up the Bigfoot researchers site or whatever it's called, and found a reporting database for Bigfoot sightings. Out of curiousity I checked for reports in any area near me, and somebody had reported a Bigfoot sighting in that very area where I used to mountain bike. (I don't remember what year they reported that)

More about me: I'm a Bigfoot skeptic. I think the idea is kind of cool, but seriously doubt that this creature exists. I've always been drug-free. And I'm what you would consider to be a reliable witness. I held a high-level security clearance my entire career, never any mental problems, etc.

And do you want to hear something really funny? I can't even post this to r/Bigfoot, because I guess I made a little joke there once related to a comment and they BANNED me from their subreddit! 🤣🤣 (they're a touchy group over there..)

I'd be interested in hearing any stories you might have of similar experiences related to unexplained encounters and repressed memories, etc.

I really hope they find a way to keep Roger Howarth around!!

Damn, he's a good actor!! I think today showed that he is NOT playing Phyllis and only pretending to have amnesia. His shocked and unsettled reaction when Phyllis mentioned the terrible things he's done was authentic and what you'd expect from someone with amnesia.

* Edit: do you know how to tell when someone is really good at…anything?? A: they make it look natural and effortless—just like Roger’s acting.

Phyllis might be in trouble though if he regains his memory and realizes how she has been using him..

Btw, Phyllis' and Patty's interactions today were gold!! 😁🤣 We need more of that!

What was/is Nick's plan for Matt again??

Did he say that he wants Matt to swing at him, so that he can kill him? (with the cop we never see anymore as a witness?)

Uhhh, don't know what those Smarties are doing to your brain Nick, but nowhere in the U.S. would that be considered a legit use of deadly force, or self-defense. You'd go to prison for sure.

Side note, I hope Y&R keeps Roger Howarth around for a long while. He comes off as natural with his acting ability and he's fun to watch.

What if....Matt does NOT recover his memory?? 🤔 (I don't expect this to happen, but woudn't it be interesting if it did...)

I like bright COLORS and I can’t deny… 😉

Huntsman, Spartan, & Companion

But I also like the all-black look, so.. 🤷‍♂️

New Era for the show: Brooke, Hope, AND Zende going to Logan??? 😲

All signs point to YES!! 👇

  • Brooke is miffed that she didn't get co-CEO
  • Zende feels his talents are underutilized (& he's getting screwed!)
  • Hope thinks Steffy is intolerable! (and...she is! 😆)

And let's not forget:

  • Katie's fashion house needs a designer
  • everyone at Logan wants Hope there
  • Hope and Brooke both going would eliminate Katie's concerns about "losing her sister"

...Not to mention, the dressmaker (& his co-CEO) would be knocked for a loop & this sets up more drama between him and $Bill! Steffy would be so shocked that she might not speak for 6 months!! (if we could ONLY be so lucky!!! 🤣)

What say you??

NKD: my wildest SAK scales!! Tie-dye Spartan! :)

This is awesome, bec I've always been a fan of tie-dye designs!! (& maybe that's a little weird, since I was never a hippie lol) It's from the Swiss Knife Shop.

NKD: 111mm - had the Navy Camo scale version already, had to get the green/black camo also!

Those serrations are wiiiiiiiiicked sharp!!! :)

I think the 111mm size is really nice if you're carrying the knife in cargo pants, or a pack of some sort.

Please include pics of yours!!

Notice that orange-tipped scale tool? (tweezers) A unique thing is that the tweezers have a ruler scale (in cm) marked on the tweezer metal.

The funny thing is, I got this Black Ice Spartan many years before my "collector" days of SAKs! Not even sure how I came across it. But when I saw it online, I liked it, and was able to get one. According to google, there were only 1,723 of the Black Ice Spartans made, worldwide. (only 600 for North America) That's pretty rare! I think it's pretty sweet.

Rambler and Evoke. I lived thru the original era of Batman comic books with the Bam, Boom, & Pow! bubbles. lol I think they even used them in the original tv series.

The Evoke is flat out cool with the all-black, & I love the orange lanyard with it.

I was browsing Amazon last week when I saw this. I ordered it out of curiousity, thinking I'd probably receive some imitation SAK from China. Turns out, I got the real thing!! Brand new RangerGrip 55. I told Amazon I thought the price was a mistake, as this knife sells for $70-80 usually. They said I could keep it! So, thank you Amazon!! :)

(the knife box was beat to hell - but the knife itself, perfectly fine)

I have the Trapper and Canoe. The jet black against the silver bolsters is great, along with the jigging. I will say that when I got the Trapper, the jigged areas had a whitish appearance. Didn't look very good. But once I put some mineral oil on the handles, that took care of it! Now it looks great - and black, like it should look imo. My Canoe was all black from the start.
