Coming soon but never know

This smock is listed as coming soon. Say no one knows when that will be, whats the best approach to find out or at least not be the last to find out when it is released?

Native 5 / AWT Scales

AWT scales completely transforms the Native 5 LW

The original lightweight has no washers and the blade pivots against the plastic. The AWT scales include washers. very smooth, and the feel is very solid. Wish I had done this before. Shown in the photo top to bottom is a lightweight in spy 27 with Lynch clip (currently listed for sale on eBay - my handle is stu42000); next is a Native 5 Salt LC 00N RIT dyed green; then my new favorite.

A little rebuild/tune up

Finally got my Ebay Chinese replacement liners. They actually got here fairly quick. Ordered on the 19th shipped on the 21st, and got here on the 30th. They fit great, function perfectly, no blade play, nice and centered, no lockup issues, and the finish looks just fine. Used my old blade and pivot with a Flytanium hardware kit and a set of their garage sale scales with a new LNW clip. Pretty happy with the end result. And my RGT terotuf set for the Salt should be here early next week.

My 1 & only Spyder - Native Chief Salt in Magnacut

TL;DR - Of course I’d like to have more. But I can’t justify having multiple at the moment. When I had a collection, each one was a burden
________________________________________

I tried a bunch of models & I liked them all for different reasons. But I can only use one at a time. & I have expenses to consider. After learning my preferences, I started looking for a knife that could perform a majority of my daily tasks

📋 Criteria:
- USA or Taichung
- Lightweight
- Corrosion resistant
- High visibility
- Can be held in various grips
- Around 3-4 inch blade
- Easy maintenance
- Usable with gloves
- Premium steel
- Had to be in or similar to the native family of designs
- Price was not a factor bc I’d rather have one good one than 5 mediocre ones

🧐 After doing research - I chose the Chief. I love the Native 5 so this was a safe bet. Within the first day, I already knew it was a keeper

I’m the type to customize everything. This time I didn’t feel the need. But Ive done some minor adjustments:

- Ceramic rod to smooth out the spine
- Sanded inner edge of FRN
- Changed clip orientation
- Tune up

📦 I cut plastic, cardboard, stripped copper & harsh materials that I shouldn’t

Naturally, I was expecting some dulling but the edge still remains sharp. I’ve seen people say that nobody could identify a steel unless it was written on the blade

I’ve cut many things with all types of different knives. Magnacut glides through material with barely any pressure. The difference is noticeable. My friend, who is indifferent to tools, used it & said:

“This thing is crazy sharp”

I would highly recommend the Chief

Edit: One time this knife slipped out of my pocket & got caught on fabric behind my truck seat. I didn’t understand why it wouldn’t close so I slammed my door multiple times on it. Afterwards - no bends or cracks in the FRN
________________________________________

If I could afford it, I’d buy:
Manix 2 LW SPY27
Sage 5 Salt Magnacut Black TiCN
Caribbean LC200N
Smock REX121
Kapara S30V
Canis S30V
Smallfly 2 S30V
Chaparral LW CTS-XHP
Stretch 2 K390
Paramilitary 2 (any version)
Native 5 LW (any version)
Shaman (any version)
& countless others

The Bow River might be one of the best deals in knives

My wife and I used my Bow River to butcher a few extra roosters yesterday, I gotta say it may be the best deal in the Spyderco world. The edge was quick to touch up ahead of time, we butchered 5 but I'd bet I could have done 20 without having to resharpen, and it worked great to get in tight on the boning work. Definitely a great knife to have on hand for all sorts of work!

The best knife from Spyderco

Lately, I've been interested in Spyderco knives. It's been a while since I've bought a new knife, so please let me know which one is the best out of the ones you've used.

Native 5 vs Para 3 / Pm 2

I love the p3 and pm 2. They are great knives and iconic Spyderco's. However, I've always found myself drawn to the N5 as my edc and I think I figured out why. I noticed that without the big thumb choil found on the p3/pm2, my thumb pushes more "into" what I'm cutting, while the geometry of the p3/pm2 is a little better at thrusting and penetrating. I'm doing a crappy job of explaining it but I feel the flat spine on the N5 gives you different leverage and is slightly better at *most* cutting tasks like whittling a stick. What do you guys think?

NKD and Happy 4th! Spyderco Yojumbo with Aftermarket Titanium Scales

Dear god this thing sucks to put back together. There’s absolutely NOTHING you can do to get this thing centered. Other than that I friggin love it lmao.
