I was a bit hesitant on picking up the 50th, and even said that i wouldn't, but the N5 is my favorite model and this was too special to pass up on. It's pretty sick, the packaging was neat, the wooden box gave me pause, and reading all the notes and stuff was nice. The knife itself is something special, it at it's core is just a native 5, but the bone and shiny blade gives it a classic look, the Damascus bolster is very cool, and the “toothed” liners and spine are a nice touch. I took the knife apart and the construction seems to be more delicate than the standard n5, and given the bolster isn’t stainless, this knife will be mostly a collection piece. I did try to swap blades with the 40th anniversary knife, but i couldn’t get the damasteel blade to sit right with the 50th’s handle.. oh well.

It's a pretty interesting knife, it has a fairly thin handle and blade, carries deep in the pocket, and feels fairly free in the hand. The compression lock is easy enough to manipulate, but the edge does poke out to the point where it actually bit my nail the first time closing the knife.
I got lucky and managed to find one in stock and on sale at mmiammo for 125$ which for 20cv backed by a compression lock is quite the steal, even better this was a knife i wanted when it was discontinued but i missed out on.

When i was young i grew up in japan, grape fanta specifically in this kind of can was some of the first soda i took a liking towards. Went to an asian market in dallas last weekend and had my mind blown seeing it again; they’re chilling in the fridge right now.
