Pokerus on cartridge with dead battery

I recently got pokerus on my Emerald save with working battery, but I also own a copy of Ruby and Sapphire with dead battery.

I was wondering, since the time doesn’t pass on those dead battery ones, is it so that pokerus will never be ‘cured’, even while in the party?

I was doing a rewatch for the 20th time or so, and this one always gives me the giggles. Community is so well made in every way I find that the jokes sometimes even get better as I watch them again.
