Apple Software Engineer Interview Loop (ICT3/ICT4) 2026 Experience

Apple's process is team-owned, which means your loop depends heavily on who you're interviewing with. That said, the shape is consistent enough to prep for.

Recruiter + HM screen (~30 min each). The HM screen goes deep on past projects and decisions. Lots of questions about "Why Apple?" and the values of the company .

Phone screen (45-60 min, CoderPad). One or two sessions. Medium LC difficulty. Clean, readable code matters as much as correctness.

Onsite (4-6 rounds, 45-60 min each). Coding rounds have real-world context baked in, not just raw algorithm prompts. System design is platform-informed: backend roles get caching and replication trade-offs, client-side roles shift toward memory and energy efficiency.

One thing I didn't expect: a full round dedicated to a past project I built. The interviewer drilled into why I chose a specific eviction policy, how I handled consistency, what metrics told me it was working. Felt more like a design review than an interview.

After the onsite, expect 2-4 weeks of silence. That's normal.

Anyone else been through a recent Apple loop? Curious how much the system design varied by team.

Multi entity expense management: one global policy or local rules?

We are trying to avoid two bad outcomes. One global policy becomes too generic for local tax and per diem rules. Separate policies for every subsidiary create duplicated work and inconsistent approvals.

For companies with three to ten entities, what operating model held up? A global baseline with local exceptions, fully separate policies, or one policy with rules based on entity, currency, and spend type?

I am also curious where ownership sits. Does corporate finance maintain the master policy while local finance manages exceptions, or does each entity own the full workflow? The product feature list is easy to compare. Governance after the rollout is the part I cannot judge from a demo.

i moved from sales to procurement. now i see every GTM playbook from the receiving end. you should hear how it looks.

things i now know from the buying side: your "multi-threading" reads as five identical emails to five of us, we forward them to each other and laugh. the vendor who won our last eval sent our champion a one-page business case she could paste into her own deck, that's it, that was the whole trick, she had 12 people to convince and you gave her ammunition instead of another demo. we stall deals not because we're comparing you to rivals but because nobody internally agrees and doing nothing is safer than being the name attached to a mistake. and we'd already shortlisted before any of you knew we existed. the reps who win treat our internal chaos as the actual competitor. because it is.

Is AI really that bad for the environment?

I see so many contradictory posts about AI's environmental impact every day.

Some say that training the largest AI models takes less power than the average farm. Then I see other posts claiming that AI uses more electricity than some entire countries.

This makes me really unsure of what to believe…

Can someone with a strong background in this area explain a few things to me ?

First, in simple terms, where does AI's environmental impact actually come from? Second, how does it compare to other parts of our society so it's easier to understand how significant it really is?

I'd really appreciate any time and effort that goes into this. Thank you !

i'm the best rep on my team and i'm terrible at the parts of sales everyone says matter

weird one. i hit 140% last year. i hate small talk, i don't do steak dinners, my discovery calls are quiet and kind of awkward. what i do is read everything about an account before i touch it and only reach out when something actually changed for them. my manager keeps pushing me to "build more rapport" and "be more visible internally" and honestly it's making me worse. question for senior people, at what point does "fix your weaknesses" become bad advice and "double down on the weird thing that works" become the right one? feeling like i'm being coached out of my own edge.

What kind of person uses Cluely in real life?

I saw a post on this sub about someone asking how to use Cluely during IRL interviews.

I thought this thing was only meant for OAs.

Have people pulled off IRL interviews with Cluely ?? (Also, not as some bs startups like FAANG and stuff)

Bio Midterm in 2 Days. Does Cluely Work for Exams?

Taking a bio class this summer and the midterm is in two days. Have not started studying.

Seen a lot of people use Cluely for interviews but has anyone used it for an exam? It should work the same way. Right ??

Has anyone here tried it for an online exam? Trying to decide today.
