Hi bedbug reddit!
Me and a friend were on a vacation on a farm. My friend found quite some bites on her, I myself found two potential smaller clusters. The bed also showed some potential signs. So we went for certainty: we were able to put all of our clothes in the dryer at 60 degrees for an hour, and most other potentially infected things in the freezer (3,5 days) as wel as moving rooms.
However our main pairs of shoes were taken out of the freezer after just twelve hours as we need shoes and have no way of getting other ones here (VERY rural area). Our rain gear also got out after about 2,5 days. We wore both.
We want to be absolutely sure we don’t bring these bugs into our house. I made this checklist:
✅ wash everything that can be washed at 60 degrees
✅ anything else that can go in the freezer goes in the freezer for a week
✅ electronics get thoroughly vacuumed
✅ we undress outside, immediately take a thorough shower and wash our towel at 60 degrees immediately after
I wanted to check and see if there is anything I am missing. Any feedback/tips for what else we can do?
