Outside of pre-written chronicles made for VtM, what types of narratives, history, or existing stories do ST’s take inspiration from when making their own chronicles?

I’ve recently began my first chronicle with three new players who don’t have any experience in the game, myself included, and while I agree the “imagination is the limit,” I’m having a tough time finding ideas to keep the ball rolling in a story.

Also, if you have any general advice for a first time storyteller, I would welcome any help, thank you.
