Root repair & walking with crutches

It's the fifth day after my meniscus root repair and I visited my orthopedic for a bandages change.

He pointed out that even though I am in a NWB phase I should use my injured leg while walking on crutches only for balance and without putting any load on it.

This to me sounds impossible given that I am also not very comfortable with crutches yet. What's your opinion on that? How can I master it without risking any injury?

A big thank you

Currently on my first week of bed rest with five more to go after my meniscus root repair surgery. Summer vacations also cancelled (good chance to finally finance an M800 though 😂).

r/fountainpens and journaling are keeping me great company and I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who is part of this subreddit ❤️!

Juicy goodness

Really rough couple of weeks. Had two no8 1.1 stub nibs from Asvine on the way to replace an underwhelming Fine nib.

Oh my..

I'm no stranger to stubs but this one is so juicy and smooth, I can't recommend it enough. Mood instantly got a lot better.

Torn root meniscus

Got diagnosed with a torn root meniscus (MRI) and I have to decide on surgery.

One doctor told me that he has to perform either a meniscectomy or if possible stich it back (without further explaining. The other one suggested transtibial pullout and he was very thorough with his examination (almost an hour).

I'm so confused, has anyone been through surgery with a torn root? And what has been your experience?

Do you think that pork is underated?

I come from a country that consumes tones of pork and never understood why it is so frowned upon in the States. Not talking about processed foods or bbq but fresh cuts in everyday cooking.

Is it because of how US pigs are raised?
