Alright, my 04 3.3L automatic 4WD just hit 130K miles. Whatcha think will be next? Just for fun and also this car scares the crap out of me and I need it to last another few years (maybe until the new xterra comes out????)
Here’s what’s been done so far:
-new distributor/ignition coil at 100K
-new spark plugs and wires
-new TPS
-Basically new cooling system as the timing belt was replaced along with the thermostat and water pump at 100K and then I put a new radiator in.
-flushed the power steering fluid
-new brakes up front and inspected lines
-new rear hydraulic brake line, new rear lines and restored drum cylinders and changed springs
-flushed brakes
-new vent valve, new solenoids, checked evap hoses (turned off evap codes successfully for now)
-new fuel filter
I have new front shocks, control arms with the bushings and ball joints (was cheaper to buy the preassembled ones on moog instead of dealing with ball joints and bushings. I also have stabilizer links and bushings coming. Basically redoing the whole front end.
Rust really isn’t that bad except drivers rocker panel in rear and I have a cab mount going in the drivers wheel well. The frame seems solid though especially for northeast Ohio.
After changing the eval stuff the idle improved and seems to be relearning but I get a little sputter sometimes when going to accelerate. And my engine hums a little.
