So a few things from Japan arrived yesterday. 2 items were records.
The first record is another autographed Yuko Tomita album.
The second album is Teresa Teng's first Japanese album Kuko / Yukigesho (Airport / Snow Covered) while obviously not City Pop, this album and this artist was undoubtedly an influence on idol and City pop singers along with Hibari Misora (who Teresa Teng was a fan of since childhood). I like this album. as I have it on CD. The only one of hers that I like more is 1977's Love In Hong Kong with Hong Kong Night and The Moon Represents My Heart. i got this album for less then $20. it came with the poster and lyrics sheet.
On another topic, Teresa Teng albums (CD and record) are expensive especially the Mandarin albums despite the fact she was popular in the USA and at one time every Asian grocery store with even a small music section had her stuff (at least in my neck of the woods)
The Yuko Tomita album came with a bag from some seller/store that sells City Pop stuff (I got it through Buyee so i don't know where it is.
