Hi everyone,

I'm a Chilean One Piece TCG player, known in the community as Jovenabuelo. I've been playing since the game first arrived in my country, competing regularly and achieving several tops. This is the first time something like this has ever happened to me.

The event:

Treasure Cup #1, organized by City Class Games in São Paulo on May 3, 2026.

My result:

Top 17 – which should receive a Top 32 prize.

The problem:

The organizer's prize pickup method was dangerously insecure. All you needed to claim a prize was to show a screen of the tournament information displaying your nickname and position. No Bandai ID check. No physical ID verification.

When I got in line to claim my prize – with my official ID and Bandai app ready – I saw that my nickname "Jovenabuelo" had already been crossed out on their internal list. They told me the prize had already been given out. The person who received it had shown the required information: my nickname and a Top 17 position (exactly my actual finish). That meant someone used a screen with my data to collect my prize.

Later, my friends and I confirmed how easy it is to fake such a screen using AI image generation or simple photo editing. The system had no way to verify if the screen was legitimate or not.

I showed the organizers my valid ID and my Bandai app clearly displaying my nickname, Bandai ID, and Top 17 finish. Their response? They refused to give me my prize, saying they "had no power to resolve it." No apology, no solution.

The aftermath:

I sent City Class Games a formal email asking for a written acknowledgment. I also raised a ticket with Bandai. As of today – no reply from either the organizer or Bandai.

Their verification method doesn't just fail – it enables fraud. Anyone who can fake a screen (trivial with AI) can walk away with your prize. And when the real winner shows up with proof, the organizer takes zero responsibility. Even Bandai hasn't responded. That's completely unacceptable.

I'm sharing this so others know what happened and so we can push for better security and accountability at future events.

Thanks for reading. Any advice or similar experiences are welcome.

TL;DR: City Class Games gave my Top 32 prize to someone who showed a faked screen with my nickname and Top 17 finish – no ID check. I had proof, they refused to fix it. No response from organizer or Bandai so far.
