[Help] Stuttering midway through movies on Android TV (Direct Play, Synology DS423+)
Hi everyone,
I've been using Jellyfin for about a year now and am generally pretty happy with it. During this time, I’ve tried out various streaming devices and have finally settled on an Android TV box that works well for me (the Waipu.tv streaming box).
However, there is one persistent issue I keep running into when streaming movies. Roughly halfway through a film, the playback starts to stutter/lag. If I stop the movie and immediately resume it, the stuttering is completely gone. It’s not the end of the world, but it would obviously be ideal to watch a movie all the way through without interruptions.
Here are some details about my setup:
- Playback: Every affected movie is running via Direct Play (no transcoding is taking place).
- Server: Jellyfin runs on a Synology NAS DS423+ with 16 GB of RAM.
- Network: Everything is connected via Ethernet. The streaming box itself has a 100 Mbps LAN port.
- Content: The issue happens with both 1080p and 4K movies.
One thing I haven't tried yet is using an external player like VLC, mostly because I assume that would break the IntroSkipper plugin.
Does anyone have any ideas or solutions for what might be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
