I recently plugged in and started up my Xbox after being off for about a year (away for military). I was prompted to sign into my outlook. So I put in my password, good to go right? Nope. I was then prompted to have an SMS text sent to a phone I no longer have.
Surely, I can just add a new number and get the code that way, right? Nope. I was prompted to create new security information and that i would have to wait.....get this......30 whole days before I could log in.
How extremely unacceptable is that? This account is almost a decade old. So I contacted support (found a way to get a human) and after exhausting a few methods, was directed to the "account reinstatement" form. Filled that out to the jest of my ability, and submitted. I received a generic email stating "your ticket is with our team for review". That was abiut 2 hiurs ago. Have heard nothing since.
Anyways, im pretty upset that when I finally get back to the states and I want to hop on and play MY games, I cant. Im actually considering canceling all my memberships (gold + gamepass) and purchasing a PC if I this is not resolved today.
To he told I have to wait 30 days is absolutely irresponsible. I wasnt hacked. I didnt lose my credentials. Didn't forget anything. I put in my proper password to my proper email and was denied for not keeping the same phone number. This is why I absolutely loathe 2fa.
Has anyone had success with these reinstatement forms? We're they taken seriously? We're they quick? Thanks in advance
