CCV Warranty - Power Train vs Special 150,000 extended warranty Am I getting duped by the dealership?
So I finally joined the failed CCV ranks for the my 2021 Silverado. Reduced engine power and screaming electric fan. Limped it home and then to my local dealership the next day. Powertrain expires June 2026 and I'm only at 127,500 Kms (That's 79,224 miles to my American friends.) Get the phone call, CCV needs replacing and I'm quoted $1700. I ask if its under warranty and they are adamant it is not then tried telling me it is because of my VIN. Now I understand GM has made this a thing with the special extended warranty for the CCV but should this not matter as I am within powertrain time and under mileage? Anyone have a similar experience? I've had them go ahead and replace the CCV but I haven't paid or picked the truck up yet (tomorrow) Should I be reaching out to GM about this?
