I think the way the devs have locked away the option for Free2Play users to set up a room is pretty despicable. The FAQ page clearly states this is available, but whenever ‘Create room’ is clicked you’re just taken to a page telling you there’s plenty of Free2Play rooms to join (if you don’t mind waiting in line behind 11 others) or to buy the full game.

I’ll never pay for this game on principle.

I’m only using 5 mods and none of them are sound related. However, the voice navigation has started playing up on my last 2-3 sessions. Sometimes I get no warning of a turn off, and other times the sentence is broken so I just get something like “… eft” instead of “Turn left”

I’m definitely not using a navigation mod. This is the game’s default system. I’ve tried all the English voices and it hasn’t made a difference.

What is the likelihood we’ll see some kind of basic company logo/ID designer in future updates? I’m not talking anything overly complex, just an option to add some initials or a company name to a pre-designed colour scheme or skin, that can then be overlayed and resized on the trucks and/or trailers for those that like to RP the whole business/fleet when playing.

I know we have the Mods Studio program for designing our own skins, but let’s face it this isn’t a two minute job and rather tricky to get good results unless you have a good eye for graphic design.

A couple of days ago I bought the two most recent maps (Nordic Horizons and Greece), both of which look stunning, even in VR.

But I noticed today while doing Quick Jobs in these locations that the visuals in VR looked even cleaner and sharper than normal. Don’t get me wrong, if your vision in real life looked the same as it does in Oculus Quest 2 VR, you’d be prescribed glasses thicker than milk bottle bottoms, but relatively speaking I’ve never seen the game looking so good.

Also, is it normal for the VR port of an update to happen on the same day as the normal update? When I noticed the game was updating I asked myself the usual question (how long will VR users have to wait?) but then I happened to check the versions list in properties and there it was ‘-Oculus -OpenXR 1.59’

So is it the latest maps that mae the game look so good in VR, or the update?

As anyone who plays in VR will know, you’re very rarely positioned correctly behind the wheel when starting a session. Thankfully a quit tap of f12 resets your view and puts you square behind the wheel. This works in ETS2, but despite getting the usual shutter sound when pressing f12, the view doesn’t reset in ATS.

I’ve found just one other person out there reporting the same issue (6 years ago) and he said he rectified the issue by resetting it in SteamVR, but his explanation is very vague.

I’ve had a look in Steam VR and did find a reset option, but it hasn’t solved it for me.

Forgive me what may be a naive question (I’m not a PC gamer as a rule) but do DLCs - particularly the map extensions - have an impact on performance? On a 3060 and playing in VR, my rig just about handles the game on low settings, and I don’t want to jeopardise that by installing more map extensions. I’m only missing the two most recent additions and would very much like to own them if possible.

I started a new profile in ETS2, which I’m sure you’re all aware means remapping all your keys. As a result of something I did (or didn’t do) during that process, my shifter now behaves oddly.

On my old profile (using ‘real automatic’) my shifter behaved as expected; from neutral, up would put me in drive, and down from neutral would put me in reverse. Now, for whatever reason, I have to go from neutral into drive, then back into neutral and up into drive again before I can move. Same for reverse - neutral, down into reverse, back to neutral and down into reverse.

I can’t work out what I need to change to fix this.

I’ve started a new profile in ETS2 and stripped my mods down to just 4. Touch wood the game is now running very smoothly (in VR, I might add) but the game appears to be ignoring one of the mods (Daniel’s Random Events).

Why would a mod that’s working fine in an old profile, not work in a new one?

My work colleague and I both have the Forerunner 55. He drives to work, I cycle, but once in work we’re together the whole day, doing the same thing.

But at the end of the day when I ask him for his step count, his is consistently almost double mine. Why?
