New patch 1.2, did it make the game less fun?

This is totally based on my own experience of playing the game. I feel like the new patch exacerbated the tedious aspects of the game and cut down on the more ”gamey”, but in my view, fun aspects of the game. For example, expanding has become a LOT slower and tedious with culture converting. Economy management feels slower and more neutured. Population growth and management is basically removed, the bonuses are barely existant when you want to do ”food/maximise pop” playthroughs. Constant diseases and insanely reduced pop promotion has made the economy often a waiting-game. Attrition had made war more micro.

I get that this is exactly what some players here in the forums wanted and hoped for, so congrats to you guys. But what are the thoughts you guys have about this? In my opinion, I feel like the game is slower and less exciting than before. The camp of people who want the more ”gamey” aspects of this game did not get much out of this update. Agree or disagree?
