The title is self explanatory, but my dog is a rescue and never liked me messing with his feet. He wants me to hold his hand (he will hand it to me lol), but if I have to trim his nails or when I’ve tried to trim the hair around his paw pads, he absolutely hates it. Because he’s a rescue (he was about 2 when we found him, according to our vet), I don’t know his backstory or any traumatic experience(s) he may have regarding his feet. It’s taken about two years, but with me rubbing his feet/moving his toes around, and just having the trimmer turned on while on the coffee table while doing that so he’s used to the noise, he let me trim his paw pads today without having an issue with it and I’m so proud of him. Clippers/trimmers can be scary, so him trusting me to trim the hair and just sitting there and letting me do it is so exciting to me. We had to take a couple breaks, but we got all four paws done in time for the warmer months. Now he’s just chilling in my living room, happy as can be 🥰🥰🥰
