This Gilmore Girls scene shaped my whole personality!
Rewatching S1:E21 and right after the opening credits, Lorelai tells Michel to answer the phone. He says he can’t because he’s suffering from “ennui,” which he describes as “a metaphysical angst.”
I’d never heard of "ennui" before, but honestly… ennui feels like such a specific emotion, and I fully relate to it! It's not exactly depression or boredom, but more like emotional flatness where everything feels vaguely meaningless or unstimulating.
Have any of you actually experienced what you’d call ennui? Or is there another word you’d use for that feeling?
Also, are there any other moods, personality quirks, or habits that Gilmore Girls made you aware of that you ended up relating to?
