UPDATE

About a month ago my Scout developed this noise⬇️

Indian finally got the engine torn down and found this. Output shaft bearing cage failure. I’m still wondering what could have caused it to fail since the dealer said it wasn’t from lack of lubrication. Overloaded somehow? What does the hive mind think? Anyone else see this before? I know the Challenger had a similar issue from poor assembly lubrication, but with 24k on the odometer I wouldn’t think that would be a problem in my case.

Top end knock?

‘21 Scout with 24k miles. Still have 1k miles before the next oil change, level is good with no metallic flakes.

Had a slight humming noise for a couple days prior. This morning I filled up on my way home, rode roughly 10 miles and parked for an hour. Came back out, got about 60 yards down the road and this noise started. RPM sensitive and it sounds like it’s coming from the top of the rear cylinder. Slight loss of MPG (33-35 instead of 35-38). No smoke out of the exhaust.

I have an appointment at my local dealer tomorrow, but I figured I’d ask the hive mind to see if I was missing something simple.
