Does anyone who used to play in rust 2016/2017 miss how much longer the time to kill at a distance was compared to modern era of rust.?
It literally feels like nowadays all i do i kill ppl anywhere from .4-.7 seconds almost no matter the distance. If i can see all i do is aim at you and hold left click and theres a good chance ill kill you in that spray, same goes for the enemy to kill me. And its really not a fun pvp experience.
Back in 2016 sure u could kill someone fast if u were close enough. But thats fair cause shotguns exist, guns need to kill fast up close. But past like 10-15 foundations full spraying in 2016 was really unreliable and if u did it often u would get shit on by someone who tapped or controlled their sprays in bursts. This caused the time to kill past 20ish meters to be greatly increased. And even things past point blank increased quite a bit as well. And it led to fights that werent over before u can even retaliate. It meant u could wall or get cover and med, then have a slightly fair chance, sure they have the advantage since u have to med but it wasnt just over.
Now since its just a series of insta kills the winning strat is to just out number ppl. Obviously outnumbers has always been OP but not it just genuinely feels like a guaranteed win for the zerg. Back then with longer TTK fights were way more methodical.
I just miss it boys, game genuinely feels shit getting beamed from the back EVERY time i roam, or any time im in a fight getting third parties by the dude who beams me before you can even realize hes there. At least before he had to get right up on me or tap tap tap me.
