I got my current cat when he was a kitten from the shelter when I was around 14 years old and now he’s 9 years old. I am lover of all cats but of course he is my kitty and my favorite cat in the whole world. he used to be much less friendly when we first got him, but he is now pretty friendly, gentle, and affectionate with guests (especially if there’s only one) when they visit. he also warms up to people quickly. That being said, I am clearly his favorite person and there’s no one else he follows around or will sleep in the same bed in. He is very loving to everyone else and will often come up to be pet by them or sit in their lap, but my loved ones always tell me they can tell I’m his favorite. I am obsessed with him and sometimes randomly cry thinking about him passing away. this might be kind of a random thought, but I was wondering if there are other cat breeds or types of cats I can get from a shelter that are very affectionate and friendly but also tend to have a close connection with their owner. it just makes me so happy and honored to be chosen by him! I def want more cats in the future and would love to know bc I feel so lucky to have my kitty!
