The Bunny Vortex - speculative fiction with dry humour - Available on Kindle Unlimited

The Bunny Vortex is a quirky book that refuses to be squashed into a genre. Expect British humour, eccentric characters with heart and purpose, and a story that blends speculative fiction, occasional action and sneaks in some philosophy.

The Blurb

Rodney’s relationship with reality is different to ours.

After an experimental device explodes in his shed, he becomes the target of an MI5 officer with something to prove. Beck expects a quick and simple retrieval. Instead, she's dragged into a bizarre and unpredictable day involving secret projects, eccentric allies, and forces intent on stopping Rodney’s plan.

Rodney isn’t running from MI5. He’s racing against Time itself.

The Bunny Vortex is quietly funny, occasionally profound, and an unapologetic misfit—speculative fiction about unusual minds, hidden forces... and biscuits.

I'm happy to chat about the book. If you read the first chapter or two, you'll know if we are on the same wavelength :)

The Bunny Vortex on Kindle Unlimited - if you crave something unusual

Hi,

I am the author of this book (self promo alert)

The Bunny Vortex is my first novella, and is available on Kindle Unlimited. It's a quirky book that doesn't like to be squashed into specific genres. It has some Douglas Adams vibes with its dry British humour, but has darker elements, emotional moments, and is rooted in modern day speculative fiction. You can expect surreal moments, quirky characters, occasional action and some philosophy to be sneaked in.

About me

55 year old software developer. Unsociable, introverted deep thinker, surprisingly married with a 14 year old son (not sure how that happened). I initially started writing a novel 10 years ago, but decided that readers would find it too heavy going and scrapped it. My new approach is much lighter, and uses humour to soften the story and breaks the concepts into novellas for easier absorption.

Having little patience for fluff causes me to write densely and pack a lot into these 100 pages - so I suggest taking your time to enjoy the quirkiness rather than speed reading through it.

Reviews

I would like to receive some reviews around the launch date of the 12th May 2026, but within the following couple of weeks would still be appreciated. It's a short read (about 100 pages) that you will probably get through in a few sittings.
