I beg you, read this small book called Beneath the Orange Sky on Kindle in one go.
It’s not very popular, but the way it’s written is incredible — it seriously boosts your imagination. Only 50 pages

Hello everyone, so I recently decided it's time to get back to reading "actual pages", and I ended up getting a Kindle for the first time. I prefer physical books, and as someone who is constantly traveling, it's hard for me to keep physical copies.
My passion for reading has dwindled year after year, and I haven't really noticed because I've been busy with other things in life.
I still read snippets, articles, and even (very) short novels here and there, but I haven't sat and read actual tomes or voluminous books. It's hard for me to stay focused as soon as I see too many pages.
As someone who used to read extensively, consuming large amounts of information and getting lost in different stories and realities was quite the experience, and I can only reminisce.
I'd love to ask for any tips or recommendations to start with, as a fantasy, horror/crime/thriller fan. I'm open to anything at this point.
TL;DR: Haven't properly read for 15+ years and looking for recommendations/tips to reawaken that passion.
I published a (wildly overdue) follow up in a series, and decided to step up my marketing game and spend time and $ on targeted Amazon ads, FB ads, and BookBub. The results were interesting. Performance wise, would day modestly successful as far as getting the clicks, but the response was not what I expected. Sales wise, not impressive at all. However, KENP went way up. I translated that as those clicking through have Kindle Unlimited accounts and the ads made them interested to read my stuff.
But, people without KU were not motivated to purchase much. As the amount of $ authors get from KENP (no matter how great Amazon makes it sound...) is beer money at best, and disappointing from a financial POV at least.
So, from a reading POV I will say successful but from a $ POV, it was not. I'm most driven by the former vs the latter so I will say on balance, I'm happy about it. I got readers to read! Per usual, if you're in it for the $, you will likely not be happy.
Anyone have a similar experience? What ad/marketing vehicle worked for you and which did not?
I have an unhealthy addiction to reading and I am curious if anyone can beat this?
I just got off a chat with Amazon that was over 2 hours long because I couldn't borrow any books from kindle unlimited. I kept getting the same error message: oops something went wrong please return to the page and try again.
After trying every solution there is, the representative says that I exceeded the limit for the month and pasted a link to the terms and conditions. I'm so very confused. I thought the was an unlimited number of books you could borrow. My autistic son does borrow alot but could this really be the case? Has anyone experienced this?
When I was a teenager, I thought my destiny was art. I studied literature and photography, did some modeling work, and acted in a couple of small theater plays. My current reality is completely different: I work in a restaurant kitchen and what I do most of the day is peel potatoes. My biggest aspiration is that the chef quits one day so I can take his place.
A few years ago, I wrote a novel that I thought was very deep. I spent a lot of money on editing and the cover, but above all I invested a huge amount of time. It took me years to write it. I uploaded it to Amazon, but no one downloaded it. I was convinced the novel was good (maybe more than it actually was), but I didn't sell a single copy.
One day I got fed up. I said: "If that's what they want, I'll give them exactly what they're asking for."
I wrote Maid for the Billionaire in less than 5 months. I didn't invest a single cent: not in the cover or professional editing (I'm sure it's missing commas and periods). It's full of absurd scenes and totally cliché characters: the millionaire who falls in love with his Mexican employee and the trophy wife addicted to plastic surgery and pills. (Seriously, my grandmother already watched that garbage in the 4 p.m. soap operas.) To make sure it was really bad, I even added a conflict with the Russian mafia and a boy with huge ears whom they call Dumbo.
The novel is pure trash. It's full of exaggerations, parodies, absurd scenes, and toxic craziness. But you know what? I put it up for free for two days and people downloaded it. Now I don't know if I should feel proud or embarrassed.
If you want to see the result of my existential crisis, the book is on Kindle Unlimited. Read it at your own risk.

P.S.: If you don't like it... well, what can you do. Tomorrow I'll be back peeling potatoes like any other mortal.
I haven’t had kindle unlimited in months and randomly decided to check in and see what books are available. To my surprise there was a deal available for 3 months of KU at no cost!! Slightly confused considering it’s not prime day… nonetheless I’m super happy! Anybody else also have this deal available???
This is getting out of hand. If authors want to post books on kindle they need to at least make a book 600 pages. Every book in my recommended books section is 300 page slop with only 1/2 books in the series not to mention books that start the series at 400+ pages then the rest in the series is only 200 pages or less
I’ve been using Kindle Unlimited since early 2022 and as a primarily classics/literary fiction/fantasy reader I’ve found some really good books on it. However, *finding* them has always been the difficult part.
It doesn’t matter what you search or what categories you select, romance is shoved in your face. I don’t read romance nor do I want to. No shame to those of you who do, power to you. But it floods every category and it’s super frustrating. I’m not sure if it’s because the authors themselves are just tagging every genre possible, but Amazon should do something to make this app better to navigate.
Is this something they’ve addressed? Is it likely they’re ever going to?
I searched on tiktok and I saw a bunch of people talking about kindle this and epub that and I have no idea what i’m listening to.
I don’t have a kindle and I’m only thinking of beginning so I don’t really want to invest in one, so I’m trying to look for a good alternative online for saving and reading books.
If there are any free alternatives to this kinda thing please let me know.
Hi everyone,
I just published my first Kindle ebook and wanted to share my experience so far and get some advice from those more experienced.
It’s a short enemies-to-lovers billionaire romance Currently free on Kindle Unlimited. I know most books in this niche are much longer, but I’m experimenting with short reads and planning to build a series and bundle later.
So far, the biggest challenges for me were:
- Formatting correctly for Kindle
- Understanding categories and which to select
- Deciding whether to use ads or just focus on organic growth
For those who’ve published short fiction:
- Did you find better traction after multiple releases?
- Did Kindle Unlimited reads matter more than sales early on?
- Any tips for engagements
Not posting links here — genuinely looking to learn from the community.
Thanks in advance!

Kindle unlimited book recommendations. Please, little to no romance books (unless it’s really THAT good), don’t get me wrong I love them but I just ended things with my ex and kind of hating men right now. Plus, I’ve just read far to many books with the same damn plot
Just some good books that don’t involve some smart, pretty, skinny girl that falls in love with some rich CEO or some good, smart girl with a bright future & an hourglass figure that falls in love with a “bad boy”.
I’m tireddd I want a good read!!!
Thank you, kisses 💋💋💋
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my debut novel, The architect’s Equation, which is fully available on Kindle Unlimited.
A bit of background: I spend my days working with heavy power systems, industrial manufacturing lines, and factory automation. I love science fiction, but I was getting tired of stories where the technology essentially functioned as magic.
I wrote this book for readers who want brutally realistic engineering. The plot relies on actual physics, power grids, modular chain conveyors, and the strict realities of modern AI limitations intersecting with buried, ancient technology.
What to expect:
• Meticulous, technically accurate world-building.
• High-stakes industrial espionage and complex mechanics.
• A thriller paced by logic, not space-opera tropes.
If you are a fan of dense, grounded hard science fiction and want a book written by someone who actually knows how a production line operates, I’d be honored if you gave it a read.
Read it here on Kindle Unlimited: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GYJNXMBW
I'll be checking the comments if anyone has questions about the book, real-world automation, or hard sci-fi in general!
Trust the System. Betray Yourself.
The most disturbing thing in my novel isn’t the AI sidekick. It’s that the protagonist becomes better at being someone else than he ever was at being himself. And he likes it.
Zero Trust is a near future thriller with plausible sci-fi and is available now on KindleUnlimited.
I still can’t believe I’m typing this honestly… my first book is officially LIVE on Amazon 🩷✨
Golden Skin, Golden Soul is the first story in my Black Girl Magic series and it means so much to me. This book is filled with love, healing, passion, growth, softness, pain, and finding peace after surviving hard things. It’s starts off the Love Magic section beautifully.
I poured my heart into these characters and this world for a long time, and seeing it finally published feels unreal.
If you love:
✨ Black romance
✨ emotionally rich characters
✨ healing love stories
✨ soft life energy
✨ deep connection and chemistry
✨ strong women finding happiness after struggle
then this book was written for you.
Even sharing this post helps support me more than you know 🩷
