Beef Tallow Fries

Where can I find a place in the USA that serves fries reminiscent of McDonald’s, circa 1990 and prior when they cooked their fries in beef tallow? I know, there are plenty of restaurants that serve fries cooked in beef tallow. However, I would like to try and experience what I had at McDonald’s back in the day: size, cut, level of processing, etc.. Of course you can argue that theirs wasn’t exactly the pinnacle of frites fried in beef tallow, but this is for nostalgia’s sake.

(I travel for work, so it’s conceivable that I will be in most major cities.)

Did I help Land from The Cabin?

We were on a low visibility approach and I saw the ground. As a passenger, I have a better perspective because I can see straight down whereas the pilots look forward. So, I dinged the FA call bell while assertively saying “Ground contact! Tell the pilots I have ground contact!” I did get what I thought was a weird look from the FA sitting at the middle bulkhead, yet she immediately picked up the inter phone. I couldn’t hear, but I am pretty sure she passed on this vital info to the pilots. Anyway, as we were disembarking, I thought that I’d at least score a set of pilot wings, get a thank you or at least a smile from the pilot standing in the cockpit doorway, but everyone just looked at me like I was an idiot. Were they just too tired to show gratitude?

More Authoritah?

Doubling down on the shoulder boards makes me a better Captain that commands respect and doubles my already great command presence, right?

I am all for waiting for the NTSB’s final report, but I must speculate. Whichever pilot did the performance obviously selected the 48’ trailer instead of the 53’ for the touch and go performance. Hell, I didn’t even know that FDP accounted for touch and go’s. How long has that capability been in place?

My friend has a 13 year old Breathometer and looking to upgrade. He is looking at a BACtrac or Alcomate. What say you? Again, asking for a friend
