Help Choosing

I currently have an iPad pro but am looking for something just for general notes and sketches that isn't so digital. I stumbled on remarkable as an option. I know all the tech side of things but I'm curious about the real world and people genuine options.

What would you guys recommend in terms of the current line up:

- Re pure (new)

- Re pro (refurbished)

- Or another alternative.

I don't know how important the colour features are or if the higher contrast of the pure is better than the colour features.

I'm an architect so the colour isn't essential to my work, especially considering I also have the iPad.

Thanks for your help and wisdom all.

Car Buying Advice - Volvo, Toyota, mini, lexus

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice on buying a new car. I'm upgrading from a R56 and have a maximum of around £22k to spend. I'm looking for 2020 or newer within that budget for reference on the below. Does anyone have any experience or had a similar choice to the below options? I really appreciate any advice, I feel like I'm going in circles chasing reliability against cost.

The shortlist I've landed on:

- MINI Cooper / Cooper S (F56)

- MINI Countryman (F60)

- Volvo XC40 (T3, T4, or B4)

- Toyota Yaris Cross Excel

- Lexus NX or UX

From what I've read, the Lexus and the Cooper hatchback seem to be the standout choices for reliability, with the Countryman close behind. The Volvo and the Yaris Cross seem more average — Volvo especially has had some mixed reviews depending on the year/model.

A few specific things I'm trying to figure out:

Has anyone owned an XC40 long-term? Specific year/engine recommendations or ones to avoid?

Is the Countryman noticeably less reliable than the regular Cooper hatch, or is that overblown?

Yaris Cross Excel owners — any complaints after a few years of ownership?

Is the Lexus NX/UX actually as bulletproof as it's made out to be, or are there hidden gotchas?

Genuinely open to being told I'm overthinking this or missing an obvious better option. Thanks in advance!

Dreaded timing chain?

Hi all, looking for some primarily advice.

I've just had the water pump belt and all the coils change (originally had a awful sound that turned out to be the pump). Plugs changed at 50k. The sound seems louder than usual. It's only there once the car gets up to temp, no abnormal start up on cold or for the first 10-15mins.

Curious is this the end of the mini (timing chain) or has anyone heard this before. The oil is relatively fresh and topped up, coolant is full, e5 petrol.

Curious if it's just the injectors playing up or just a 'normal mini'
